    Security Investigator - All Interested Candidates (Foreign Service National Investigator)

    Duties
    Basic Function:

    • Working in the Regional Security Office (RSO), the Foreign Service National Investigator (FSNI) conducts security investigations and maintains liaison with local police and other security and law enforcement officials.
    • The FSNI assists the RSO team in coordinating protection for post personnel and visiting U.S. government officials, obtaining and reporting on information concerning potential security threats to post personnel, facilities, or information.

    Qualifications and Evaluations
    Experience:

    • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in law enforcement, military, private security, or investigation is required.

    Job Knowledge:

    • Good working knowledge of the local and regional judicial system including criminal laws and procedures, and laws regarding military service, marriage divorce, and adoption is required.

    Education Requirements:

    • A minimum of two (2) years University Studies is required. 

    Evaluations:

    • This may be tested. Please specify your level of proficiency in the language listed.

    Language:  

    • Good working knowledge reading / writing / speaking English is required.
    • Working level (ability to translate) in pidgin and fluent Reading / Writing / Speaking in one of the three major Nigerian languages: Hausa, Igbo or Yoruba is required.

    Skills and Abilities:

    • A valid driver's license is required.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to conduct investigations with utmost discretion
    • Ability to draft correspondence and reports in English; and skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook applications.

    Duties
    Basic Function for the Position:

    • Under the direct supervision of the Telecommunications Supervisor, incumbent is responsible for the programming, installation, operation, and maintenance of post radios, base stations, repeaters, comparators, duplexers telecommunications towers / mast, video splitters, amplifiers, combiners  and controllers, video multicast and broadcast equipment, satellite TV decoders and all other radio frequency related equipment at the consulate, offsite locations and residences.
    • S/he is the Primary customer support for all radio and TV related issues and assists with programming and installation of post PBX systems, residential internet services, LAN (Local Area Network) cables and Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) circuits.

    Qualifications and Evaluations
    Experience:

    • Two (2) years of directly progressively responsible experience in telecommunications is required.

    Job Knowledge:

    • Must have good knowledge of the Nigerian Communication Commissions' Regulations, Guidelines and policies.
    • Must have thorough knowledge of electronic and radio theories and practices, installation, operations, management, testing and troubleshooting and repair procedures and techniques.
    • Must have experience in Cisco, satellite remote antenna pointing and alignment, fiber optic and copper cable installations and distribution and local area networking.
    • Knowledgeable with telecommunication test equipment, fiber, ethernet and coaxial cable analyzer. 

    Education Requirements:

    • Two (2) years of University / College studies in Electrical, Electronics or Telecommunications is required.

    Evaluations:
