    Research Program and Business Development Manager - Abuja

    MISSION OBJECTIVE

    • The Research Program and Business Development Manager will support the chief innovation officer in growing and managing the research program by critically assessing and originating new frameworks and policies to sustain and enhance its relevance in the organization. S/he will plan and manage the execution of diverse research initiatives, grant proposals and projects at EHA Clinics while fostering partnerships with local (Nigerian) and international researchers and institutions to uncover novel research and business prospects. Leading the deployment of strategies that cater to emerging business imperatives and client demands, the Manager will distinctly position EHA Clinics as a leading center of expertise

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    PURPOSE

    • Lead the critical assessment and origination of innovative policies and frameworks to sustain and enhance the relevance of our research efforts towards emerging priorities and client needs.
    • Screen grant applications and RFPs to identify research opportunities and prepare winning proposals in conjunction with the chief innovation officer and research scientists.
    • Manage a team of project managers, research staff and clinical staff to successfully execute research projects.

    ENGAGEMENT

    • Manage collaboration and coordination with internal teams:
    • Forecast risks and implement plans to mitigate risks in collaboration with team members and other stakeholders.
    • Develop collaborative networks with a wide range of researchers and research institutions across Nigeria. Conduct outreach activities at universities and other suitable organizations to solicit new projects and staff.
    • Regularly create social media posts and stories to increase the visibility of the department's in the local and professional community.

    DELIVERY

    • Actively monitor the progress of multiple projects simultaneously to ensure they meet deliverables and deadlines.
    • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation. And adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
    • Set and enforce stringent metrics and standards to guarantee consistent quality across all research service, program, and portfolio deliverables
    • Prepare and monitor departmental and individual KPIs. Adhere to EHA Clinics code of conduct and ethical standards of the field.

    Targeted Specialized Knowledge 

    • PhD in public health, life sciences or a similar field from an outstanding academic university is a minimum requirement for this position
    • A minimum of 3 years work experience as a project manager or 1 year as a program manager in an international organization is essential.
    • Proficiency in the English language and the ability to write science in a clear, coherent and persuasive manner.
    • Strong computer skills, including Google Suite are essential. Good documentation and analytical skills.
    • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time as required.

    Community Health Extension Workers (Intern)- Lagos

    Duties And Responsibilities

    PURPOSE

    • Act as healthcare educators, providing vital education about the healthcare options that are available. Ensure cultural competence among healthcare providers serving vulnerable populations.
    • Inform EHA and educate other stakeholders about community health needs. Build community capacity to address health issues.
    • Meet with clients, individuals, and community organizations to create health programs designed for individual use and for groups. Help patients navigate healthcare and social service systems.
    • Manage care and care transitions for vulnerable populations. Reduce social isolation among patients. Advocate for access to health benefits and resources for less privileged patients or vulnerable populations within their communities.

    ENGAGEMENT

    • Participate in outreach relative to community awareness of general health, new diets/exercise programs and health risks to targeted groups of people within the community.
    • Provide culturally appropriate health education on topics related to chronic disease prevention, physical activity, and nutrition.

    DELIVERY

    • Ensure all necessary notes, forms and supplementary information through weekly checks and updates are well maintained in clients' database to promote efficiency.
    • Complete administrative tasks on an ongoing basis to ensure proper and organized record keeping, working with staff members when/if necessary.
    • Determine individuals' eligibility and enroll them in health insurance plans. Supervise the treatment of patients living with terminal illness so that they can live healthier and longer lives.

    Targeted Specialized Knowledge

    • Certificate of training as a community health worker (CHEW) 
    • Valid practice license from the Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria 
    • Minimum of 1 years relevant experience
    • Fluent in any local language and proficiency in written and spoken English

    Locum Doctor - Abuja

    Mission Objective

    • The clinical services department ensures delivery of high quality medical and laboratory services that are patient centered in order to ensure optimal health and well being for patients achieving the organization’s mission and vision.
    • The Medical Doctor will perform a range of functions including but not limited to; initial history taking, clinical assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of care. S/he must demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process, especially in assessing and diagnosing patients, leading to the delivery of safe care for all patients. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the healthcare team and the Management Team to meet the needs of the patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures. The Medical Doctor will also review and act appropriately on blood results and referrals/correspondence regarding patients. In addition, S/he will be expected to occasionally carry out some home visits to patients registered on the Membership Scheme.

    Duties And Responsibilities 

    PURPOSE

    • Conduct telemedicine consultations which may involve discussing results and implications of laboratory investigations with patients as well as dealing appropriately with routine and emergency complaints.
    • Determine diagnosis and treatment plans, in consultation with patient(s) or referring to Supervising doctor(s) as appropriate. Conduct and oversee clinical care to patients using established clinical guidelines.
    • Interview patients, take medical histories, perform physical examinations, analyze,determine, diagnose and explain medical problems during surgery consultations and home visits.
    • Participate and oversee all treatment and preventative healthcare services as delegated and agreed upon by the supervising Practice Manager(s). Assist in clinical instruction and supervision of medical and nursing staff as well as other interns/student doctors.

    ENGAGEMENT

    • Provide and explain clinical instructions to the nursing staff and other clinical care teams as required. Communicate when necessary with colleagues in Clinical care and hospital specialists in order to discuss or refer specific patients, plan and coordinate activities, or exchange information.

    • Recommend direct clinical care to patients using established clinical guidelines. Interview patients, take medical histories, perform physical examinations, analyze, diagnose, and explain medical problems during surgery consultations and home visits.

    DELIVERY

    • Fully document all aspects of patient care, reconcile and complete all required paperwork for legal and administrative purposes. Attend regular educational meetings organized by the practice in order to clinical knowledge, practice policy and guidelines timely
    • Contribute to clinical development by developing a special interest and help to establish appropriate systems to manage common chronic medical conditions, ensuring compliance with approved standard treatment guidelines.
    • Support and Sustain clinical research and efforts within the EHA Clinics leading to the publication of papers.

    Targeted Specialized Knowledge

    • Degree In Medicine - MBBS, MbChB, MD, DO in any Global, National, or State recognized University and conforming to the guidelines as set out by the Medical and Dental Association of Nigeria.
    • Completion of compulsory internship and a minimum of 2 years post NYSC. Up-to-date registration and license from the MDCN
    • Completion of BLS, ACLS.
