    Marine Engineer – Watchkeeping

    We are looking for an individual with a strong foundation in marine engineering principles and a commitment to safety and operational excellence. As a Watchkeeping Marine Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and safe functioning of our vessel\'s engine room, adhering to stringent industry standards.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform watchkeeping duties in the engine room, ensuring the safe operation of propulsion, steam turbine, and auxiliary systems.
    • Monitor engine room parameters, alarms, and control systems, taking prompt corrective action.
    • Operate steam turbine machinery and associated systems during watches, as applicable.
    • Conduct routine inspections and checks of marine engineering equipment, reporting abnormalities.
    • Assist in the operation and monitoring of boilers and fuel systems.
    • Support planned and unplanned maintenance activities under the guidance of senior engineering officers.
    • Maintain accurate watchkeeping logs and engine room documentation.
    • Comply with the vessel’s Safety Management System (SMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS).

    General Requirements

    • Class 3 or Class 4 Marine Engineer Certificate of Competency in accordance with STCW 95.
    • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Watchkeeping Marine Engineer.
    • Proficiency in engine room watchkeeping duties and operational procedures.
    • Strong understanding of marine engineering principles and propulsion systems.
    • Demonstrated ability to respond effectively to alarms and emergency situations.
    • Excellent safety awareness and strict adherence to all safety procedures.
    • Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
    • Willingness to learn and continuously develop technical competence.
    • Valid offshore and marine certifications as required by flag state and company policies.
    • Steam turbine watchkeeping experience is highly preferable.
    • VLCC experience is considered an advantage.

    Lead FSO Marine Engineer

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead FSO Marine Engineer to join our dynamic team in Lagos. This is a critical role responsible for ensuring the seamless and safe operation of our Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) unit\'s marine engineering systems.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead and supervise all marine engineering operations onboard the FSO, ensuring continuous and safe operation of propulsion, steam, and auxiliary systems.
    • Operate, monitor, and maintain steam turbine systems in accordance with manufacturer guidelines, class rules, and operational procedures.
    • Oversee fuel gas boiler firing operations, including start-up, shutdown, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting, ensuring optimal efficiency and safety.
    • Ensure planned and corrective maintenance activities are executed in line with the vessel’s Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
    • Supervise engineering personnel, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and performance oversight.
    • Ensure compliance with Safety Management Systems (SMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and applicable maritime and offshore regulations.
    • Participate actively in HSE meetings, audits, drills, and inspections, ensuring corrective actions are closed out promptly.
    • Maintain accurate engineering logs, operational records, defect reports, and maintenance documentation.

    General Requirements

    • Class 2 (Steam) Certificate as Marine Engineer in accordance with STCW or a recognized National Equivalent (DCE for Petroleum/Gas, as applicable).
    • Minimum of two (2) years’ sea-going experience on steam turbine vessels, including service as Second Engineer.
    • Demonstrated fuel gas boiler firing experience (highly desirable).
    • Proven experience working within Safety and Environmental Management Systems in an offshore or marine environment.
    • Strong knowledge of marine engineering systems, statutory compliance, and offshore safety standards.
    • Strong leadership and supervisory capability.
    • Excellent understanding of steam turbine and boiler operations.
    • High commitment to safety, environmental protection, and regulatory compliance.
    • Strong troubleshooting and decision-making skills under operational pressure.
    • Effective communication and teamwork skills in a multicultural offshore environment.
    • Ability to maintain detailed technical records and reports.
