    Security Supervisor

    Job Description

    Duties involved with this job include monitoring security equipment, supervising other security staff, like the security guards, assembling, documenting abnormal occurrences on a job site, and training of security teams.

    Duties
    Here is a list of common duties/tasks, and responsibilities contained in the job description of a security supervisor:

    • Write and submit security reports
    • Provide security
    • Maintain law and order in area of jurisdiction
    • Monitor staff by patrolling with them
    • Assign work areas for officers to patrol
    • Protect the people and property
    • Conduct routine patrols with team
    • Look out for suspicious persons, vandalism or hazards
    • Respond to alarms and distress calls
    • Ensure all security systems, like the burglar alarms and CCTV are working properly

    Requirements

    • Good communication skills
    • Critical thinking skills
    • Must be able to observe situations and make appropriate response
    • Must be able to work with speed
    • Previous experience as a police officer, military police officer or security guard is an added advantage
    • Must have no criminal record.

    Security Manager

    Job Brief

    • We are looking for a competent Security Manager to organize and oversee all security operations of our company. Security personnel will be under your command while you develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain security standards.
    • As security manager, you will have to demonstrate excellent surveillance and emergency response skills. You will need a strong commitment to security rules and knowledge of all hazards and threats to safety. Since you will have a number of people under your responsibility, you must also exhibit leadership skills.
    • The goal is to create and preserve an environment where employees, visitors and property are safe and well-protected.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement security policies, protocols and procedures
    • Control budgets for security operations and monitor expenses
    • Recruit, train and supervise security officers and guards
    • Attend meetings with other managers to determine operational needs
    • Plan and coordinate security operations for specific events
    • Coordinate staff when responding to emergencies and alarms
    • Review reports on incidents and breaches
    • Investigate and resolve issues
    • Create reports for management on security status
    • Analyze data to form proposals for improvements (e.g. implementation of new technology)

    Requirements

    • Proven experience as security manager or similar position
    • Experience using relevant technology and equipment (e.g. CCTV)
    • Experience in reporting and emergency response planning
    • Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures
    • Solid understanding of budgeting and statistical data analysis
    • Working knowledge of MS Office
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
    • Committed and reliable
    • Financial member of any of the Professional Security Organizations.
    • Minimum of First degree in any of the social sciences.
    • Age between 35-50 years

    General Manager

    • Minimum 5 years of experience as a General Manager.
    • Must have expertise in profitability analysis and budgeting
    • Exhibits strong problem-solving skills in long-term and immediate situations
    • Computer functions, troubleshooting, and basic setup.
    • Proficient in all MS software and equivalent
    • Able to make decisions that are based of technological efficiencies
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly editing and proofreading
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and display flexibility
    • A keen sense of urgency, adaptability, and accountability to strive for excellence in high pressure situations
    • Strong interpersonal skills - is assertive and still viewed as approachable; deals with sensitive issues with finesse
    • Demonstrated high level of responsiveness in communication with employees of all levels and other external constituents
    • Entrepreneurial minded with an internal drive to continuously hit goals and succeed
    • Master's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work will be an added advantage
