    Associate Program

    Job Summary

    We seek individuals interested in working at the intersection/nexus of consulting and impact. The ideal candidate will work on projects that aim to solve development issues in Africa with a focus on health, agriculture, gender and climate change. They will collaborate with our expert teams to develop and implement evidence-based solutions and recommendations that address our clients’ needs and deliver impact at the last mile.

    • Conduct research and analysis on development issues that affect our clients in Nigeria and Africa.
    • Infer and present research findings in clear and concise reports, briefs, and other formats. 
    • Work with our expert team to plan and implement projects in Nigeria and across Africa. 
    • Pick and execute a high-level project in an area of interest.

    Requirements 

    • Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Economics, Political Science, Sustainability or related field. Post graduate degree in development areas will be an added advantage
    • Minimum three years cognate experience in research and analysis 
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills. 
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
    • Familiarity with research and analysis tools, such as Excel, Power BI, or GIS (Geographic Information System) tools 
    • Experience or interest in International Development, Monitoring & Evaluation and Public Data Systems
    • Experience working with government agencies, NGOs (Non-governmental Organizations), or other development stakeholders in Africa

    Short-term Consultant, International Development Advisory

    About the Role

    • DevAfrique is recruiting a Consultant, who is passionate about development issues in Africa and excited to work at the intersection of development, industry, and governance.
    • A successful candidate will be a leader who is able to multitask, collaborate, and communicate expertly with diverse internal and external stakeholders. This role requires a candidate with strength in at least one of the development focus areas of health, agriculture, environment or urban sanitation but with transferable skills to other sectors.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Understands and can support strategy development for global development programs, including crafting strategic plans, theories of change, and impact pathways tailored to Sub-Saharan African contexts.
    • Supporting the design and the implementation of research framework on diverse topics across health, agriculture, geospatial technology, and environment.
    • Assisting in the designing and implementation of monitoring and evaluation frameworks for projects across various sectors in Africa.
    • Leading end-to-end project delivery including the development of high-quality reports, proposals and presentations for clients and global partners.
    • Optimally performing analysis, constructing a logical framework, and creating high-quality deliverables for clients and partners.
    • Contribute to cross-organizational partnerships and support proposal development with our partners.
    • Serving as a thought leader on specific value chains of health, agriculture, urban sanitation or environment.

    Required Skills

    • A degree in economics, international development, international affairs, African studies, or related fields
    • Project Management Certification
    • Strong understanding and lived experience of the major development issues in any of the Sub- Saharan African countries
    • Previous experience conducting research or driving local implementation in any international development focus areas of agriculture, health, urban sanitation or environment.
    • Minimum of five years of experience in management or development consulting. Preference for candidates with experience in project implementation and delivery.
    • Experience in proposal writing, concept notes and strategy delivery
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and any of the data visualization software, like Tableau, Google Analytics or PowerBI)
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
    • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make well-thought-out decisions.
