Job Summary:

The Quality Check Officer will be responsible for inspecting, monitoring, and ensuring that all rice products meet the company’s quality standards from raw material to final packaging. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, proactive, and willing to travel between company locations in Lagos and Port Harcourt as required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular inspections of rice production and packaging lines to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Test and analyze rice samples for moisture content, impurities, and grain uniformity.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (NAFDAC, SON, and other relevant standards).
• Identify and report any deviation from quality specifications and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate quality records and prepare periodic quality assurance reports.
• Work closely with production supervisors to ensure continuous improvement in product quality.
• Monitor storage and handling processes to prevent contamination or spoilage.
• Support internal and external quality audits.
• Travel between Lagos and Port Harcourt to conduct quality checks at various operational sites.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• OND/HND/B.Sc. in Food Science, Microbiology, Agriculture, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in food or rice processing industry.
• Good knowledge of quality control processes and food safety management systems.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently between Lagos and Port Harcourt.

Work Schedule:

• Monday to Saturday (occasional weekend work as needed).
• Field travel between Lagos and Port Harcourt based on production needs.

The Quality Control is responsible for ensuring that all rice produced, processed, or packaged meets the company’s quality and safety standards before distribution.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspect rice grains for impurities, discoloration, or broken pieces.
• Check moisture content to ensure rice is properly dried.
• Verify correct packaging, labeling, and sealing of rice bags.
• Record inspection results and report any quality issues to the supervisor.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the processing area.
• Ensure compliance with company safety and quality control policies.
• Assist in sorting and reworking rejected or substandard batches.
• Travel to different rice mills or distribution points across Nigeria to monitor quality consistency.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of relevant work experience in rice production or food quality checking.
• Strong attention to detail and observation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically fit and able to work in production environments.
• Willingness to travel across Nigeria as required.
