Job Summary

• We are seeking an Internal Audit & Risk Associate to support and enhance our internal control, audit, and risk management framework.
• The role involves conducting financial, operational, and compliance audits, assessing the effectiveness of internal controls, and performing data-driven risk analysis.
• The ideal candidate will have a solid background in audit and risk management, strong analytical skills, and advanced proficiency in Excel.
• This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can prepare clear audit reports, recommend improvements, and support the implementation of effective risk mitigation strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
• Prior experience in internal audit, risk management, or internal control.
• Proficiency in Excel mandatory other tools are add-on .
• ACA/ACCA/CIA/CISA certification (in view or completed) is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills.

Job Description

• The ideal candidate will be responsible for in-house legal matters including drafting agreements, addressing compliance issues, and participating in negotiation discussions.
• In order to succeed, this candidate should feel comfortable working with in-house and outside counsels on a variety of legal matters.

Responsibilities
Legal Advisory:

• Provide legal guidance to management and departments on regulatory, contractual, and corporate issues.
• Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for practical application in business operations.

Contract & Documentation Management:

• Draft, review, and negotiate agreements including vendor contracts, service agreements, NDAs, and MoUs.
• Ensure all contracts comply with internal policies and applicable laws.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with statutory obligations under Nigerian law and relevant sector regulations.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies on filings, licenses, and obligations (e.g., CAC, CBN, NCC, FIRS).

Risk Management & Dispute Resolution:

• Identify and mitigate legal risks proactively.
• Coordinate litigation, arbitration, and settlements; manage external legal counsel as required.

Corporate Governance:

• Maintain corporate records, including board resolutions and filings.
• Support leadership with legal insight on strategic decisions.

Training & Policy Development:

• Review and develop internal policies from a legal perspective.
• Conduct staff training on legal topics (e.g., data privacy, AML/CFT compliance).

General Legal Support:

• Assist departments (e.g., finance, HR, operations) on legal issues.
• Stay updated on legal trends and regulatory changes relevant to the business.

Qualifications

• LL.B and B.L (called to the Nigerian Bar)
• Minimum of 5 years post-call experience in corporate/commercial law
• Prior in-house experience or exposure to fintech, telecoms, or financial services is an advantage.
