    ICT Supervisor

    Code: LS03302
    Report to: Logistics Coordinator
    Report to (functional): Logistics Coordinator/ IT Technical Referent at HQ
    Area: Logistics & Supply

    Level: 6

    Main Purpose

    • Supervising and monitoring the implementation of the systems and communications' software and hardware in the mission, according to MSF standards, protocols and procedures in order to ensure the efficient use of ICT systems and equipment.

    Accountabilities

    • Installs, maintains and monitors, the ICT systems and equipment in the mission (capital and projects)
    • Supervises, plans and provides network security, supports and trains users, applies security management protocols (back-ups, anti-malware, updates and software patching, firewall protection, radio protection, etc.)
    • Registers, reports and refers unsolved questions,problems and unusual requests, to the respective support units in order to actively provide solutions and ensure quality standards
    • Trains local IT assistants on daily maintenance tasks and 1st level support, as well as the radio operators in order to improve ICT staff capabilities and to improve lead time response
    • Together with the Logistics Coordinator, analyses the ICT needs of the mission, draws up a draft of the ICT budget, and designs an adapted strategy aiming to optimize the investment on information and communication technology
    • Identifies and implements Information management practices to enhance the mission system's effectiveness and reliability (development, check-up, deployment of applications, systems or new ITC standards, etc.)
    • Compares quality of equipment, software and internet providers/services, in order to optimize buying.

    MSF Section / Context Specific Accountabilities:

    • 50% of the time in the the projects: Zamfara, Gwoza, Maiduguri and Pulka
    • Monthly reports to Logco registering all the activities, problems, soutions proposed and plans for following month
    • Responsible of updating monthly IT material inventory, location, passwords and status
    • Responsible of configuring computers and printers according to MSF standards and programmes
    • In collaboration with field logs follows the radio set up in the projects: adequate signal of HF and VHF, operational bases, antennas, car equipment and handsets
    • Supports fields in drafting the orders of spares and replacements
    • Daily Vsat mornitoring in projects for internet connectivity.

    Requirements
    Education:

    • Essential: advanced diploma in IT.
    • Desirable: degree in technical engineering.

    Experience:

    • At least 2 years in IT related jobs. Desirable experience in radio.
    • Desirable experience in administration and recovery of backups (MS, C, Veritas, etc.).

    Languages:

    • Essential good command of ICT English, working knowledge of English and and Hausa.

    Knowledge:

    • Administration of Operational Systems (XP-Pro, W7, W2003 Server, Linux)
    • MS Office 2003/2007/2010, Protocols: TCP/IP, LAN, WAN,
    • Microsoft Networks configuration and set up (network components –switch and routers-,
    • Ethernet, wifi, Bluetooth), Picture creation: ISO, MDF, CSO, etc.
    • Apps development languages: platforms.NET, Java, Eclipse RCP
    • Configuration and set up of networks: Desktops, Laptops and peripheric
    • Mail clients: Outlook, Mozilla, Lotus. Antivirus: Kaspersky
    • Other: SAP R3, Citrix, Remote Desktop Access.

    Paediatrician - Malaria Peak Season


    Location: Maiduguri, Borno

    Context

    • Médecins Sans Frontières is a private, non-profit international humanitarian organization dedicated to providing medical assistance to populations in crisis, without discrimination and regardless of race, religion, creed or political affiliation.

    Job Description

    • Applying medical knowledge and skills to prevention, diagnosis and treatment of children, ensuring integrated new-born and paediatric care through Emergency, OPD, and IPD services in New-borns and cases of malnutrition. Prescribing the necessary treatment, respecting MSF protocols.
    • Collaborating closely with the different department of the hospital (e.g. Maternity), Knowing and ensuring all updated MSF medical protocols and universal precautions are followed and implemented, reducing bio-hazard risks and improving infection control.
    • As an expert in paediatrics, proposing strategy (modification on current new-born and paediatric care management) and implementing them after validation of Operation and Paediatric Advisor.
    • Ensuring on-going new-born and paediatric training (formal and bedside) of the medical/paramedical multidisciplinary team in order to optimize the new-born and paediatric quality of care. Reviewing and discussing selected complicated cases or mistakes and giving technical input.
    • Keeping patients and their families informed of the illness and the treatment to follow, checking that they have been understood. Ensuring professional autonomy and confidentiality are respected and a good attitude and proper bedside manner towards the patient and their care takers and the rest of the medical team.
    • Following up the evolution of the hospitalized/IDP patients through daily visits, consultations and examinations, prescribing the necessary treatment following MSF protocols, deciding whether they can be discharged or transferred to other departments – in collaboration with other doctors- and informing their family about the patient’s evolution.
    • Monitoring the proper functioning of the department, equipment or material and addresses the list of the missing item for new-born and paediatric activities. Providing inputs about general organization of the different paediatric wards, including the admission, transfer and discharge criteria.
    • Checking and controlling the rational distribution of medicines and equipment under his/her responsibility and taking care the quality, disinfection and sterilization of the medical material. Assuring general compliance with standing hygiene standards.

    Requirements

    • Medical Doctor Diploma & Pediatrics qualification. (Consultant Pediatrician)
    • 3 years experience working as Pediatrician
    • Preferred, experience in Pediatric ICU
    • Language used & desirable: Kanuri – Hausa – English

    Conditions

    • Work Location: Maiduguri - Gwange Hospital
    • Contract: 208 working hours per month and roster flexibility required. Start ASAP.

    Remuneration

    • Monthly Gross salary of N960,000 plus 13th month allowance equivalent to 1 month of gross salary.
