    Head of Audit

    Objective

    • The Head of Audit will lead the internal audit department, ensuring the company adheres to legal standards, internal policies, and industry best practices, especially in preparation for becoming a publicly listed company.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive internal audit program that addresses financial, operational, compliance, and strategic risks.
    • Guide the company in maintaining and improving control systems, with a focus on the requirements for a publicly listed entity.
    • Lead, direct, and manage the internal audit team to conduct regular and ad-hoc audits across all departments.
    • Report findings and recommendations to the Board of Directors and senior management, ensuring timely corrective actions are taken.
    • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies as needed, ensuring compliance with all financial and operational regulations.
    • Oversee the development and implementation of training programs to enhance the audit team’s capabilities and knowledge.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, changes in auditing standards, and new regulations applicable to public companies.

    Qualifications

    • Proven experience in an audit leadership role, with a strong understanding of audit methodologies and risk management.
    • Excellent knowledge of accounting standards, compliance regulations, and corporate governance, preferably with experience in a publicly listed company or a firm preparing for an IPO.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
    • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
    • Professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) are preferred.

    Skills:

    • Audit Experience: Strong background in auditing practices and procedures, preferably in the food industry. This includes understanding of auditing standards, risk assessment, and internal control frameworks.
    • Financial Acumen: Ability to analyze financial statements, interpret financial data, and identify areas of potential risk or irregularity in financial reporting.
    • Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with food safety regulations, health and safety standards, and other relevant regulations governing the bakery industry.
    • Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to auditing processes and documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all audit activities.
    • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills are crucial for conveying audit findings, recommendations, and reports to senior management and stakeholders. This includes both written and verbal communication skills.
    • Leadership Skills: As the Head of Audit, you may lead a team of auditors, so strong leadership skills are essential for managing and motivating team members, delegating tasks, and fostering a positive work environment.
    • Problem-Solving Abilities: The ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and develop practical solutions to address audit findings and improve internal controls.
    • Ethical Conduct: Upholding high ethical standards and integrity is paramount in an auditing role, ensuring impartiality, objectivity, and adherence to professional codes of conduct.
    • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in using audit software, data analytics tools, and relevant technology to enhance audit efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Risk Management: Understanding of risk management principles and methodologies to assess and mitigate risks across various aspects of bakery operations, including financial, operational, and compliance risks.

    Head of Account

    Job Description

    • The Head of Account will occupy a central role within Emmanuel Bakeries, directly supporting the company's strategic initiatives through detailed financial analysis, reporting, and forecasting. 
    • This role is designed to enhance financial transparency and accountability, streamline operations, and ultimately position Emmanuel Bakeries as an attractive opportunity for investors.

    Responsibilities
    Strategic Financial Management:

    • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, identifying areas for financial improvement, investment opportunities, and cost management.
    • Collaborate with senior management to craft financial strategies that align with Emmanuel Bakeries’ goals of expansion and investor engagement.

    Investor-Ready Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare detailed financial reports that meet investor standards, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
    • Develop and present financial metrics and KPIs that clearly communicate the company’s financial health and operational efficiency to prospective investors.

    Budgeting, Forecasting, and Planning:

    • Lead the budgeting process, setting comprehensive budgets that reflect the strategic direction of Emmanuel Bakeries.
    • Perform regular financial forecasting, updating projections based on market trends and operational performance to guide management decisions.

    Cost Analysis and Reduction:

    • Implement rigorous cost analysis and reduction strategies to enhance profitability without compromising quality or service.
    • Monitor and report on cost variances, identifying trends and recommending actions to senior management.

    Compliance and Risk Management:

    • Ensure full compliance with local and international financial and tax regulations.
    • Proactively manage financial risk, including credit, market, and liquidity risks, developing strategies to mitigate these risks in alignment with company objectives.

    Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting:

    • Act as a key point of contact for financial matters with external stakeholders, including auditors, tax advisors, and potential investors.
    • Prepare and deliver financial presentations for board meetings, investor briefings, and internal strategic reviews.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
    • Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA) is required.
    • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a management accounting role within the FMCG sector, with a proven track record of preparing for and engaging with investors.
    • Experience with financial modeling and analysis in preparation for mergers, acquisitions, or public offerings is highly advantageous.

    SLA (SERVICE LEVEL AGREEMENT):

    • Reporting Accuracy & Compliance: Guarantee 100% accuracy in all financial reporting, adhering to IFRS and local financial regulations.
    • Budgeting and Forecasting Precision: Deliver budget and forecasting reports with a maximum 5% deviation margin from actual figures.
    • Cost Management: Achieve a year-on-year operational cost reduction of at least 5% through effective cost control measures.
    • Investor Engagement: Produce and update investor decks and financial models quarterly, or as required by the business development team

    Skills:

    • Expertise in financial analysis, reporting, and forecasting with a keen eye for detail.
    • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
    • Strong presentation skills, capable of conveying complex financial information in an understandable format to non-financial stakeholders.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills for engaging with internal teams and external investors.
    • Strategic thinker with the ability to operate both in detail and with a broad, long-term perspective.
