Summary

• The work schedule for this position is: Full Time (40 hours per week)
• Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (6 weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Basic Function of the Position

• The incumbent performs janitorial duties on the Embassy Compound and all U.S. Government (USG) leased/owned properties. 
• S/he is responsible for cleaning unclassified space. 
• S/he receives expendable janitorial supplies from GSO Storeroom; as well as responsible for treatment and cleaning, restroom cleaning, high cleaning, wall cleaning, window cleaning, and deep cleaning of all Embassy Compound spaces.
• S/he reports directly to the Facility Management (FAC) Janitorial/Gardening Supervisor. 

Qualifications and Evaluations

• Education Requirements: Completion of Primary School
• Experience:  Two (2) years’ experience in commercial/office buildings cleaning is required.

Job Knowledge: 

• Knowledge of current cleaning methods and materials as well as knowledge of safe handling of industry standard cleaning chemicals is required.
• Must be able to read and understand janitorial supply instructions, materials, and equipment.

Evaluations:

• Language: Level II (Limited knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing of English is required.
• Skills and Abilities: Must be a team player and work independently with a good customer service skills

Summary

Travel Required:

• 75% or less
• Drives Mission Nigeria officials and visitors both in Lagos and in other states as required following procedures of defensive driving techniques and safety regulation.

Basic Function of the Position

• Under the supervision of the Motor pool Supervisor, the incumbent operates a variety of armored and non-armored motor vehicles to transport Mission personnel, including VIP visitors, TDY staff, delegations and field trips.
• S/he performs routine preventive maintenance, cleaning of vehicle and completes trip ticket to notate each trip taken on their shift, including mileage, fuel, condition of vehicle, and passenger details. 
• S/he may be required to drive Chief of Mission, Deputy Chief of Mission and Consul General.

Qualifications and Evaluations

• Education Requirements: Completion of Secondary School or high school diploma
• Experience:  Minimum of three (3) years of professional driving experience is required.

Job Knowledge: 

• Through knowledge of Lagos and other Nigeria cities, as well as good knowledge of automotive, mechanical, safety and maintenance practices.
• Must be familiar with local traffic laws, traffic laws, traffic patterns, and locations of various government offices.

Evaluations:

• This may be tested.

Language: 

• Level II (Limited knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing in English is required. Level II (Limited knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing any local language is required.

Skills and Abilities: 

• Ability to work on rotational shift schedule, as well as ability to drive carefully and cautiously in heavy and chaotic traffic situation are required. 
• Ability to recognize a hazardous or dangerous situation and take appropriate action is required. 
• Ability to communicate clearly on the phone and/or by radio and follow instructions.  Must have a valid class B or D Nigerian drivers’ license.
