Junior Product Manager – Product Operations & Internal Platforms

    Responsibilities:

    • Own and run the product team's agile ceremonies; sprint planning, daily standups, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and retrospectives; keeping delivery predictable across all product work streams.
    • Translate roadmap priorities from Product Managers into well-groomed, clearly written tickets and epics that Engineering and Design can execute against.
    • Track sprint velocity, delivery risk, and blockers, and proactively flag and resolve issues that threaten sprint or release commitments.
    • Own the product roadmap and backlog for Duplo's internal back-office applications, including Duplo Admin, Metabase, and other internal tooling used by Support, Compliance, Finance, and Operations.
    • Gather requirements from internal stakeholders (Support, Compliance, Finance, Ops) for back-office tooling improvements, and prioritise them against engineering capacity.
    • Maintain and continuously improve the team's agile process, tooling (e.g. Jira/Linear), and reporting cadence, including sprint reports and delivery dashboards for leadership.
    • Act as the day-to-day point of contact between Engineering and the product team on execution matters, ensuring scope, dependencies, and timelines are clearly understood.
    • Partner with Product Managers to ensure internal tooling roadmaps stay aligned with the broader Duplo product strategy.
    • Handle sprint management

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
    • 3 years of experience as a Product Owner, Scrum Master, or similar delivery-focused product role, ideally in a fast-moving tech or fintech environment.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across Engineering, Support, Compliance, Finance, and Operations.
    • Solid working knowledge of agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and hands-on experience running standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
    • Experience owning or working closely with internal/back-office tools (admin dashboards, analytics tools like Metabase, support tooling, etc.).
    • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to keep multiple workstreams and stakeholders on track at once.
    • Comfortable writing clear tickets, epics, and acceptance criteria that engineers can pick up with minimal back-and-forth.
    • A proactive, process-oriented mindset with a genuine interest in making teams run more efficiently.

    Product Manager

    • We want to make B2B payments as simple as P2P payment apps. Most business payments in Africa are made offline….yikes. We are on a mission to transform this. We are backed by top investors including Point Nine, Tribe Capital, Commerce Ventures, Liquid2 Ventures, Basecamp Fund, Soma Capital, YCombinator, Oui Capital, and others.
    • This is a unique opportunity. You'll own the strategy and roadmap for Duplo Dashboard, the spend management and billing platform businesses across Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana and Kenya rely on, to control company spend and get paid.

    • Run customer discovery and stakeholder interviews across Duplo's markets (Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, Kenya) to validate use cases.
    • Own migration planning for existing non-paying customers as monetised billing features roll out, minimising churn and support escalations.
    • Write clear, detailed product requirement documents and collaborate with engineering on technical feasibility and sequencing.
    • Represent the Dashboard/Spend platform in cross-functional planning, and mentor or support other product managers as needed.

    Requirements:

    • Strong ability to write clear BRDs/PRDs and work cross-functionally with Engineering, Design, Compliance, and GTM to ship complex, regulated products.
