    Senior Data Engineer

    The role: 

    Are you an avid learner, constantly looking to improve and innovate? We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data  Engineer to partner with in driving our data strategy. You’ll play a key role in driving our journey towards becoming a fully data-driven organization and embedding a data first culture across the business.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities

    • Design and build high-performance, secure, and scalable data pipelines to support data science projects following software engineering best practices.
    • Curate, wrangle, prepare data, and feature engineering to be used in machine learning models
    •  Design and develop the data and analytics platform selecting the right technologies for each problem at hand (big-data stack, SQL, no-SQL, etc.)
    • Build a modular pipeline to construct features and modeling tables.
    • Build a sense of trust and rapport that creates a comfortable & effective workplace and experience in working as part of an agile squad
    • Work with Data Analytics and Science team to understand the business needs and build impactful analytics solutions.
    • Coordinate and collaborate with the Data Analytics team & other engineering teams to align on our roadmap

    Competency and Skill Requirement

    • 5+ years’ experience in a data role (Senior Data Engineer, Senior Data Analyst, Analytics Engineer, etc.)
    • 2+ years of hands-on experience building data pipelines in production and the ability to work across structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
    • Hands-on experience implementing ETL (or ELT) best practices at scale . 2+ years of experience in ML pipeline for streaming/batch workflow.
    • Hands-on knowledge and experience in working with the modern data stack (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, dbt)
    • Hands-on knowledge and experience with orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, or Dagster)
    •  Professional experience using Python for data processing, SQL, Git (as source code versioning and CI/CD), and Apache Kafka.
    • Natural ability to manage multiple initiatives and clients
    • Authorization to work in the country without sponsorship

    Senior Engineer, Scrum

    The role: 

    Flutterwave is looking for an experienced scrum master to oversee and guide scrum teams. The scrum master's responsibilities include ensuring that development teams follow scrum framework values and agile practices, mentoring and motivating the teams to improve processes, facilitating meetings and decision-making processes, and eliminating team impediments.

    A scrum master that has a firm grasp of agile practices and the ability to effectively manage and mentor development teams. An outstanding scrum master with excellent interpersonal, project management, and problem-solving skills.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

    • Use agile methodology values, principles, and practices to plan, manage, and deliver solutions.
    • Train and mentor the squad teams to follow agile principles, and practices.
    • Determining and managing tasks, issues, risks, and action items.
    • Scheduling and facilitating scrum events, meetings, and decision-making processes.
    • Coordinate sprints, retrospective meetings, and daily stand-ups
    • Facilitate internal communication and effectively monitoring progress and performance and helping teams to make improvements.
    • Planning and organizing demos and product/system testing.
    • Ensuring the proper use of collaborative processes and removing impediments for the scrum team.
    • Effectively tracking and communicating project progress, deliverables, and financials.
    • Preparing and presenting status reports to stakeholders.

    Required competency and skillset to be a waver:

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a relevant field preferred.
    • Certified scrum master, SAFe preferred.
    • 8+ years of experience as an Agile coach or scrum master.
    • Expertise in agile methodology, techniques, and frameworks, such as Scrum or Kanban, to deliver solutions.
    • Proficient in using JIRA to effectively manage Agile based projects
    • Excellent people and project management skills.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Familiarity with software development
