    Finance Officer

    Starting Basic Salary: 326, 033 NGN per month (excluding other benefits)

    Key responsibilities:

    • Daily record of all bank account expenses in the excel book, in respect of ACTION AGAINST;
    • Carry out all payments for the relevant Bank accounts. HUNGER standards in terms of use of chart of accounts, project code, Contract and financial line and the third party codes;
    • Ensure bank books & cash book are closed, reconciled & sent to capital on monthly basis together with the bank reconciliation & cash counts;
    • Make payments after verifying the consistency of supporting documents submitted in accordance with the Action Against Hunger procedures, ensuring all invoices are accurate, consistent and signed;
    • Ensure that the cash box, bank, and the main safe maintain the minimum security amount;
    • Maintain cash, bank, supplier contracts, PAYE, vendor & all other finance relevant contracts in finance department;
    • Archive financial files as per ACTION AGAINST HUNGER archiving guidelines, keep copies at the base & send original to capital on monthly basis;
    • Process the monthly income tax payments (PAYE) as per information provided by the Capital;
    • Consolidate withholding tax for remittance at federal and state level;
    • Prepare and send EFCC weekly report to capital;
    • Manage the advances, ensuring invoices are received and that they are consistent with the ACTION AGAINST HUNGER’s procedures (invoice accurate and signed);
    • Ensures that stakeholders payment complies with the Project Activity Resourcing (PAR).

    Position Requirements:

    • Minimum of a Bachelor equivalent in Accounting/Finance;
    • Minimum of 2 years' experience in NGO financial management;
    • Exceptional organization, time management, and attention to detail;
    • Professionalism, honesty, reliability, autonomy & strong sense of responsibility;
    • Very good communication & training skills;
    •  Ability to maintain confidentiality;
    • Strong computer skills particularly in MS Excel, literacy and numeracy;
    • Fluent in English;
    • Committed to ACF values;
    • Capacity of analysis, synthesis and reporting;
    • Strong accounting skills;
    • Prior experience in NGOs/INGOs;
    • Experience with SAGA accounting system;
    • Previous Knowledge of donors environment;
    • Experience with computerized accounting systems; knowledge of SAGA would be a plus;
    • Exceptional organization and planning skills, ability to manage and follow work plans;
    • Highly developed interpersonal, communication, able to negotiate, influence, give effective feedback, be a team player;
    • Able to manage stress effectively, juggle competing priorities, balance various programmatic, logistic and team needs;

    Warehouse Officer

    Starting Basic Salary: 326,033 NGN per month (excluding other benefits)

    Key responsibilities:

    • Report any problems with quality, quantity or documentation immediately;
    • Identify the items entering and leaving and check the quality, quantity and documentation;
    • Restrict entry into storage facilities and keep keys for the storage facilities;
    • Observe the minimum stock balances to anticipate any shortage in rolling stock and report it to the Logistics Manager;
    • Review monthly the minimum stock balance according to consumption;
    • Carry out monthly physical inventory of all items in stock and submit SFU to the Logistics manager;
    • Make sure that the stock is arranged in such a way that it’s easy to count and aisles are accessible. Check daily and record the temperature and humidity of the store especially, make sure the approved layout is implemented when available;
    • Separate foodstuffs from other stock and pay special attention to dangerous goods;
    • Ensure storage facilities are free from rats, rodents and any other pests which may damage stock and periodically plan for fumigation of storage facilities;
    • Plan for disposal of expired/ infected products in collaboration with the warehouse manager and the owner of the stock;
    • Directly supervise the process of loading and unloading, including casual worker request, attendance sheets and ensuring timely payment is made;
    • Supervise warehouse assistants day to day work;
    • Provide support whenever needed;
    • Keep a good information flow with the procurement team (in the base and Abuja) to either update on the deliveries or anticipate on the upcoming deliveries.

    Position Requirements:

    • Minimum BSc Degree or HND with professional experience in stock management and an NYSC Completion certificate;
    • At least 3 years proven experience in stock management;
    • Sound knowledge of general storage procedures;
    • Knowledge of computer packages excel and word;
    • Highly organized;
    • Good communication skills in both written and oral English and excellent in Hausa or Kanauri language;
    • Inhabitant of North East Nigeria region;
    • Archiving management;
    • Traceable previous experience in similar role in an NGO set up.
