    Business Performance Manager

    Job Summary

    • The Job holder will be responsible for managing the financial performance management/monitoring process in ARM and providing ARM leadership management requisite information to support decision making and improved performance. The position will also work to facilitate strategic planning through preparation of financial forecasts based on ARM’s business strategy, over-all management, co-ordination and preparation of the annual budget and periodic revised forecasts through analysis, review and preparation of periodic financial reports

    Job Details

    • Participate in setting ARM finance group strategy and objectives 
    • Preparation of forecasts and translating them into meaningful financial information such as profitability, balance sheet growth, growth impacts, capital and funding requirements 
    • Preparation of key macro and micro assumptions for input into the planning and budgeting process 
    • Overall management, co-ordination and preparation of the annual business plan, capital expenditure, operating budget and periodic revised forecasts 
    • Develop and implement reporting of key management information (MI) ensuring data integrity and timely communication to relevant stakeholders 
    • Develop performance benchmarks for business units and monitor performance against these 
    • Drive the required business analysis and related process for making recommendations for new or improving performance opportunities 
    • Manage performance against the budget for each business unit and ARM as a whole 
    • Provide detailed monthly performance statements and analysis for business units 
    • Investigation of variances and recommending remedial measures where necessary 
    • Identify areas of performance shortfall and propose corrective interventions to management team 
    • Develop demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function.

    Requirements

    Educational Requirements 

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university Advanced degree in Finance or Business Management (e.g. MBA, M.Sc Finance etc.) 

    Professional Requirements 

    • Professional certification in finance and/or accounting from a recognized professional body (e.g. CFA, CGMA, ACCA, ICAN etc.) 

    Experience Requirements 

    • Minimum of 8 years of work experience in a similar role

    Job Summary

    • Responsible for leading the Microfinance Bank’s finance function, delivery of financial management and financial operations reporting capabilities that allow the organization to achieve optimal business outcomes and regulatory compliance

    Job Details

    Balance Sheet Management:

    • Identify, recommend, and implement optimal balance sheet structure for ARM Microfinance Bank, in compliance with internal balance sheet ratios, and regulatory requirements, and monitor effectiveness of balance sheet management strategies.

    Financial Reporting:

    • Interpret and translate financial statements and information to drive Transactional Accounting:
    • Designs and manages the organization’s chart of accounts, as well as frameworks, and guidelines, on accounting operations. strategic and successful business decisions and growth.
    • Communicates interpretations to organization’s board, and executive management to drive decision-making.

    Tax Management and compliance:

    • Design and implement taxation framework, standards, and guidelines for the Bank, in line with current and projected statutory provisions on taxation, and ensures the organization is in complete adherence to best practices in tax management.

    Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Drive the Bank’s budgeting and forecasting efforts with the aim of providing the organization with a comprehensive financial plan for achieving its financial and operational goals.
    • This role is also responsible for providing unique insights and advisory on market factors, industry trends, revenue and cost drivers that could impact budget performance

    Cost Management:

    • Lead cost management for the bank, through the deployment of waste elimination efforts, and the implementation of activity-based costing measures. Risk and Compliance Management:
    • Ensures adherence of the bank to internal and regulatory provisions, ratios, accounting processes, records, and reporting standards for Microfinance Banks in Nigeria. .

    Corporate Performance Management:

    • Responsible for driving the implementation and continuous improvement of management information systems that allow for online, real-time monitoring and management of the organization’s performance

    Stakeholder Management:

    • Builds valued relationships with stakeholders at the strategic level, and assembles coalitions, to support long term business development.

    • Responsible for leading the Microfinance Bank’s Operations function. Providing strategy leadership by designing and implementing operational procedures and policies to support business operations, service excellence, business growth, risk management and compliance.

    Operations Oversight

    • Responsible for the development and implementation of strategic initiatives that sustain / improve the bank’s competitive advantage through operational efficiency, innovation, controls and service excellence.
    • Oversee daily banking operations including payments, settlements, account services, reconciliation, transaction processing, customer service etc.
    • Develop and lead implementation of operational policies, systems, and controls to improve efficiency and mitigate risks.

    Business Advisory
