- The role is responsible for coordinating continuity planning activities, maintaining documentation, supporting testing and simulation exercises, monitoring compliance with BCMS standards, and ensuring operational readiness during disruptions.
- The Business Continuity Coordinator shall act as a central liaison between subsidiaries, departments, technology teams, and management tensure continuity plans remain current, effective, and aligned with regulatory and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Business Continuity (BC) Program Coordination
- Support the implementation and administration of the Group-wide Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) Framework.
- Coordinate BCM activities across subsidiaries, locations, departments, and support units.
- Assist in ensuring all subsidiaries maintain updated and approved Business Continuity Plans (BCPs).
- Monitor adherence tBCM policies, procedures, and standards.
- Maintain centralized BCM documentation and records repository.
Business Continuity (BC) Planning Support
- Assist subsidiaries, locations and departments in developing and updating:
- Business Continuity Plans (BCPs)
- Departmental recovery procedures
- Incident response procedures
- Emergency contact lists
- Crisis communication plans
- Ensure continuity plans adequately address critical business processes and operational dependencies.
- Track periodic review and approval of continuity documents.
Business Impact Analysis (BIA) Support
- Coordinate Business Impact Analysis exercises across the Group.
- Gather and validate information relating to:
- Critical business functions
- Recovery priorities
- Recovery Time Objectives (RTO)
- Recovery Point Objectives (RPO)
- Operational dependencies
- Compile and analyze BIA data for management reporting.
- Maintain updated inventory of critical processes and systems.
Testing and Simulation Exercises
- Coordinate periodic business continuity and disaster recovery testing activities.
- Schedule and organize:
- Tabletop exercises
- Evacuation drills
- Crisis simulations
- System recovery tests
- Call tree testing
- Document test observations, gaps, and lessons learned.
- Track remediation of issues identified during testing exercises.
Incident and Crisis Support
- Support coordination during business disruptions, incidents, and crisis events.
- Maintain incident logs and documentation.
- Escalate continuity-related incidents tdepartmental or subsidiary heads.
- Assist crisis management teams during emergency situations.
- Support post-incident reviews and corrective action tracking.
BCM Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain updated BCM records, plans, templates, contact lists, and recovery procedures.
- Prepare periodic BCM reports and dashboards for management.
- Track key BCM metrics and action plans.
- Maintain evidence and documentation for audit and regulatory reviews.
- Ensure proper version control and secure storage of continuity documents.
Regulatory Compliance and Audit Support
- Assist in ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and standards.
- Support internal and external audit engagements relating tBCMS.
- Coordinate closure of audit findings and remediation actions.
- Monitor BCMS compliance status across subsidiaries, locations and departments.
Training and Awareness
- Coordinate BC awareness and training programs for employees.
- Organize continuity sensitization sessions, workshops, and simulation exercises.
- Assist in developing BCMS training materials and awareness communications.
- Promote operational resilience culture within the Group.
Vendor and Third-Party Continuity Monitoring
- Assist in assessing business continuity preparedness of critical vendors and service providers.
- Maintain records of vendor continuity plans and recovery arrangements.
- Track vendor compliance with continuity-related contractual requirements.
- Escalate identified third-party continuity risks.
Administrative and Coordination Functions
- Schedule BCM meetings, workshops, and committee sessions.
- Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, and follow-up action trackers.
- Coordinate BCM communication across departments and subsidiaries.
- Support special resilience and operational risk projects assigned by management.
Requirements
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in: Business Administration, Risk Management, Information Systems, Finance, Management, Computer Science, Or related discipline
Professional Certifications
- Preferred certifications include:
- IS22301 Foundation or Lead Implementer
- Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP)
- Business Continuity Institute certification
- Disaster Recovery Institute International certification
- Any of the following risk management or audit certifications are an advantage: CRISC, FRM, CRM, CISA

Training & Awareness
- Develop HSE training programs for all staff levels and contractors, tailored by sector.
- Organize periodic safety drills, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.
- Build a strong safety culture through employee engagement and management buy-in.
Incident Management & Reporting
- Lead investigations into incidents, near-misses, or occupational illnesses, ensuring root cause analysis and reporting.
- Maintain up-to-date incident records and report to management and regulatory bodies as required.
- Ensure corrective actions are implemented and lessons are shared across businesses and departments.
Environmental Management
- Ensure proper environmental practices such as waste management, emission control, and sustainable practices across businesses, locations and departments.
- Promote energy conservation, water usage reduction, and sustainable farming practices.
- Monitor environmental impact and provide quarterly sustainability reports.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise with regulatory agencies, external auditors, local communities, and other stakeholders on HSE matters.
