Boiler Operator at Grand Oak Limited

Purpose of Job  

• To operate and maintain boilers, water sampling and treatment system, pipe repairs and carry out preventive maintenance.
• To work with the maintenance crew to complete all required repairs and maintenance for the assigned machinery.
• Functionally reports to: Maintenance Manager
• Working Arrangement: On-site

Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure safety, related to the boiler and associated operations
• Adhere to legal requirements related to boiler operations
• Ascertain that the daily operations are carried out
• Ensure that the daily check list and log books are maintained
• Operation and the maintenance of the boiler and associated auxiliary systems like WTTP/ SOFTNERS
• Trouble shooting and ensuring the boilers are available for operation at all times
• Updating documents according to company requirements
• Ensure boiler performance is tracked

Following basic documents and updating them as required from time to time, and as follows:

• Daily log book
• Daily check list
• History book
• Preventive maintenance completion and its documentation
• Safety check list
• Monitoring all engines like natural gas (fuel), water, power, steam, ago (cooking gas) etc.
• Updating boiler performance weekly/monthly/quarterly/annually

Key deliverables include:

• Zero incidents in boiler and accessions systems
• Boiler availability 98%
• Preventive maintenance 100%
• Legal compliance 100%
• Boiler efficiency 90% or as directed by the Engineering Manager as agreed
• Developing and training an assistant

Job Requirements

• OND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• 3+ years of experience operating boilers within the manufacturing industry
• Strong knowledge of high-speed machinery
• Previous experience working as a water network operator, welder, plumber or boiler maker would be an advantage
