    • At Babban Gona, your unique talents and drive are that crucial seed.
    • You don’t just do a job here; you directly contribute to a flourishing future for smallholder farmers and their communities.
    • Your skills aren’t just tasks; they’re the very tools we use to innovate, to build trust, and to create tangible, life-changing value where it’s needed most. You matter because the impact you can make here is real, visible, and deeply important.
    • As an Innovation Analyst, you’re not just filling a role; you’re helping reimagine how agriculture can work for Africa. Your insights, analysis, and ideas will help design the next generation of solutions that lift families out of poverty and shape the future of rural prosperity.

    Why this role matters:

    • Innovation is the engine that powers Babban Gona’s impact. In this role, you’ll help identify, assess, and support the development of transformative ideas; from product pilots to process improvements.
    • Your work directly fuels Babban Gona’s growth.
    • You’ll be instrumental in identifying what value we create, how we deliver it more effectively to farmers and members (that’s our “Value Delivery”!), and spotting new ways to expand our harvest. You’re not just following a map; you’re helping us draw it, discovering new fertile ground, and nurturing the systems that make our farm flourish!

    Responsibilities
    You will:

    • Conduct rigorous research and data analysis to uncover trends, gaps, and opportunities.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prototype, test, and scale innovative models.
    • Translate complex problems into clear insights to guide decision-making at the leadership level.

    • You’ll thrive in this role if you’re intellectually curious, action-oriented, and passionate about solving real-world problems.

    We’re looking for someone with:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (proficiency in Excel, Power BI, or similar tools is a plus).
    • Experience in innovation, strategy, consulting, or product development.
    • A degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field (Master’s is a plus).
    • Excellent communication and storytelling skills—you can turn data into decisions.
    • The humility to learn and the courage to challenge the status quo.

Here’s what helps you flourish in our field:

    • Systematic & Impact-Oriented: You see how small improvements compound across a system.
    • Collaborative & People-Centric: You know no field is cultivated alone. You work well with others—earning trust, communicating clearly, and embracing the perspectives of farmers, colleagues, and stakeholders alike.

    Data Engineer

    Job Description
    Why you matter:

    • As we scale rapidly across geographies and platforms, the volume, complexity, and importance of our data continue to grow. With that growth comes the need for strong, reliable data foundations that support decision-making, regulatory needs, and operational excellence.
    • We need a Data Engineer who can design and scale data systems thoughtfully—building pipelines and architectures that turn data into a strategic asset, not a bottleneck.

    Responsibilities
    You will:

    • Design and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines across platforms
    • Ensure data quality, consistency, and accessibility across teams
    • Support analytics, reporting, and decision-making with trusted datasets
    • Partner with product, operations, and leadership to translate data needs into solutions
    • Implement data governance, documentation, and best practices to support long-term scale
    • Optimize data workflows and performance as data volumes and use cases grow
    • You’re not just moving data. You’re building confidence in our numbers, enabling smarter decisions, and helping Babban Gona scale with clarity and impact.

    Requirements

    • You’re the kind of person who sees patterns before they become problems.
    • You think in systems, care deeply about quality, and understand that good decisions start with good data.
    • You enjoy building for scale, but never lose sight of the people and impact behind the numbers.

    You bring:

    • 2–4 years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar data-focused role
    • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data transformation and pipeline development
    • Experience building, maintaining, and optimizing data pipelines and data models
    • A track record of working with cross-functional teams to deliver trusted datasets
    • Clear communication skills—able to explain data concepts to non-technical stakeholders

    Bonus if you have:

    • Experience with cloud data platforms or warehouses
    • Familiarity with data orchestration, data quality frameworks, or analytics engineering
    • Experience working with growing or impact-driven organizations

    You’ll thrive if you’re:

    • Both thoughtful and hands-on—comfortable designing systems and getting into the details
    • Curious, structured, and proactive about improving data reliability
    • Collaborative—working closely with analytics, product, and operations teams
