The government of the People’s Republic of China offered to assist Nigeria in building and equipping one Comprehensive Hospital and four rural Primary Schools. In this regard, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Nigeria signed a memorandum of understanding with the Federal Ministry of Health. This understanding was re-affirmed by the National Planning Commission which buttressed the fact that the 150-bed Hospital will replace the congested then Federal Staff Hospital in Garki II, thereby expanding the scope of the health care delivery system in the Federal Capital Territory.
