Job Summary

• We are looking for a qualified welder who will fusemetal pieces by applying intense heat using equipment like MIG, TIG, and arc welding machines to join, assemble, or repair structures and components.
• Your key responsibilities include interpreting blueprints and specifications, preparing metal surfaces, operating machinery, performing precise welds in various positions, inspecting the quality of welds for flaws, maintaining equipment, and adhering to strict safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpreting Plans: Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements, plan layouts, and determine the correct welding methods and equipment.
• Material Preparation: Clean and prepare metal surfaces by cutting, grinding, or other processes, and ensure they are free from impurities like grease or moisture.
• Component Setup: Position, align, and secure metal pieces using hand tools, clamps, jigs, and fixtures according to design specifications.
• Welding: Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, such as arc, MIG, and TIG machines, to create precise and strong bonds between metal components.
• Quality Assurance: Inspect welded surfaces and structures to identify and assess any flaws, and ensure a good, flawless finish on the product.
• Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and operate welding machinery, cutting torches, and other specialized tools, and perform routine inspections to prevent issues like overheating.
• Safety Compliance: Follow strict safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe working environment.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

• Certificate: ND or SSCE certificate required
• Experience: 2-5 years practical experience required
• Welding Techniques: Proficiency in various welding processes (e.g., arc, MIG, TIG) and an understanding of how to apply them.
• Blueprint Reading: The ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and weld symbols.
• Technical Knowledge: An understanding of metallurgy, thermal dynamics, and quality control processes is beneficial.
• Manual Dexterity and Precision: The skill to handle tools and equipment to perform precise, high-quality welds.
• Physical Stamina: The ability to perform tasks that may involve lifting heavy objects, working in restricted positions, or in environments with noise and dirt.
