Warehouse Officer at Straight-Gate Publishers Limited

OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Warehouse Officer, serving as an assistant to the Warehouse Manager. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient storage and distribution of our publications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our publishing company and gain valuable experience in logistics and inventory management.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist the Warehouse Manager in overseeing day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and shipping publications.
• Prepare orders for outgoing shipments, picking and packing publications according to customer requirements.
• Coordinate with logistics department to arrange for the timely dispatch of orders, ensuring accurate and on-time delivery.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management software, conducting regular stock counts and reconciliations.
• Assist in conducting quality checks on publications to ensure they meet company standards before distribution.
• Support the implementation of process improvements and efficiency enhancements in warehouse operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager to support the overall success of the warehouse.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• HND/ BSC in any field.
• Previous experience in warehouse operations, preferably in a publishing or distribution environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse 
• Must reside around University of Ibadan and its environs
