The veterinary technician will provide exceptional delivery of premium service to pets: bathing, grooming and ensuring thorough cleaning of dog’s kennels, clinic, admission rooms, boarding rooms and the general premises of the organization.
Responsibilities
Conduct grooming which includes: bath, ear & anal gland cleaning, nail clipping, fur brushing and hair cut for pets.
Providing assistance to Doctors as required in cases of restraint, drug administration and general cleaning.
Overseeing de-matting and detangling dogs as required.
Prepare and feed dogs on boarding.
Identify and communicate any pet health issue to the medical department and client.
Recommending grooming techniques/products to client.
Ensure all working equipment’s are thoroughly cleaned and sterilized after use.
Monitoring thecleaning and maintenance of a conducive environment.
Maintain constant vigilance regarding open doorways that could allow pets to escape from the facility.
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding clients and patients for whom the practice provides veterinary services.
Occasionally conduct duties not captured in this job description for the management.
Requirements
OND/HND graduate of animal science or related course.
Exceptional communication skills.
Customer service skills: attentively listening to client’s requests.
