Utility Engineer at Ascentech Services Limited

Salary Range: ₦200,000 – ₦250,000 (Monthly Gross)

 About the Role

We’re seeking a skilled and motivated Utility Engineer/Technician to support all aspects of utility maintenance within our plant. The successful candidate will lead planned maintenance, minimize downtime, and ensure seamless operations of essential utilities including power, water, air, and steam systems.

 Key Objectives

• Maintain and troubleshoot all utility systems including boilers, chillers, air compressors, WTP, WWTP, power distribution, firefighting systems, and cooling towers.
• Implement a proactive maintenance plan to reduce plant downtime.
• Train and develop utility technicians for optimal performance.
• Support energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives in utility operations.

 Responsibilities

• Execute and document daily routines and planned maintenance for utility equipment.
• Respond swiftly to breakdowns and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Monitor spare parts usage and plan inventory to avoid production downtime.
• Oversee contractors’ performance and report to the Engineering Manager.
• Recommend system upgrades and performance-enhancing modifications.
• Coach, mentor, and assess training needs for junior technical staff.

 Key Requirements

• BSc/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 2–5 years of hands-on experience in utility systems maintenance.
• Strong mechanical skills and knowledge of utility plant operations.
• Proficiency in the operation and maintenance of:
  • Power generation systems
  • Water Treatment & Wastewater Treatment Plants
  • Boilers, Chillers, and Air Compressors
  • Cooling Towers and Boreholes
  • Firefighting & Safety Equipment
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and troubleshoot under pressure.
