Upper Elementary Teacher at Halifield Schools

• Halifield Schools is seeking a passionate, experienced, and highly competent Upper Elementary Teacher to join our Elementary Section. The ideal candidate must have a strong command of the English Language and proven ability to teach English effectively, while supporting pupils’ overall academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons in line with the approved curriculum.
• Teach English Language effectively, with strong emphasis on grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing, spelling, and communication skills.
• Develop pupils’ confidence and proficiency in both written and spoken English.
• Assess, monitor, and report pupils’ academic progress.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the varying learning needs of pupils.
• Maintain effective classroom management and promote positive behaviour.
• Create a stimulating and supportive learning environment.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding pupils’ progress and development.
• Participate in school activities, staff meetings, and professional development programmes.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, English Education, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience in a reputable primary or elementary school.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English is essential.
• Strong experience teaching English Language at the elementary level.
• Strong knowledge of the Nigerian and British curricula.
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• TRCN certification is an added advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and educational technology tools is an added advantage.
