Unit Head, Corporate Finance and Capital Optimization
Promote policies, processes, and guidelines to enhance corporate finance, capital management, ratings and investment activities of FirstBank Group
Coordinate subsidiaries’ strategy development / strategic planning process
Lead capital allocation across the Group to maximize shareholder value
Ideate / recommend corporate finance initiatives
Recommend optimal transaction structures for corporate finance transactions for the FirstBank Group.
Lead inorganic growth plans (M&A, partnerships, etc) of FirstBank Group
Oversee the end-to-end management of capital across all group entities, including preparation of annual capital plans and ICAAP reports
Lead analytical efforts, that support capital investment decisions
Ensure delivery of SF&CM’s input into the annual Recovery & Resolution Plan
Oversee the development, review /,update and compliance monitoring of relevant policies, including Group Capital Management Framework, investment management framework, capital hedging framework, etc
Lead the Group’s capital raising initiatives
Plan and lead the Bank’s credit rating process to achieve set target credit rating.
Work with internal stakeholders to deliver the data/ information requests stakeholders, including credit rating institutions, regulators, equity / debt analysts, etc
Coordinate all relevant management, board and regulatory approvals for capital raising corporate finance decisions and investments of the FirstBank Group.
Manage vendors and other stakeholders
Ensure risks inherent in unit’s activities are effectively identified and processes developed to manage same
Ensure decision makers are promptly and accurately informed
Carry out any assigned roles as mandated by the HOD or CFO
JOB REQUIRMENTS
Education
Good first degree, preferably in numerate discipline
Strong preference for postgraduate degree or other professional qualification, in line with Group competency requirements
CFA, ACA, ACCA, CPA, CMA, in line with Group competency requirements
Experience
Minimum of 10 years’ working experience in corporate finance, investment banking and capital management in Financial Services or related industry
