Underwriting Intern at Oceanic Health Management Limited

Job Duties/ Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:

Providing support assistance in the following duties:

Maintaining Profitability

• Interpretation and enforcement of the NHIA Act
• Underwriting new enrolees while screening application in branches nationwide.
• Approving new clients for Health Insurance after considerable risk assessment
• Underwriting existing policies for profitability and continuity purposes
• Creating policy wording and document in line with NHIA stipulations for each clients.
• Clients/Enrollee utilization checks and monitoring
• Documenting and keeping records of all policy document
• Ensuring client act in agreement to policy document
• Ensuring the HMO acts in compliance to NHIA stipulations.
• Auditing annually the entire Insurance portfolio for profitability.
• Mitigating the effect of adverse selection in a healthy pool.
• Incepting adequate insurance for the company such as Group life, Motor Insurance, Fire insurance etc.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of OND degree in social sciences or related field. 
• No prior experience is required as candidate will be trained on the job. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications including outlook is required. 
• Confident and enthusiastic. 
• Numerical proficiency is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required 
• Pleasant disposition with excellent interpersonal skills 
• Serving NYSC corps members can also be considered.
• Successful candidate must be ready for an immediate start.
