Unclaimed Cargo Coordinator at ZIM Integrated Shipping Services

Job description

This position will be responsible for the following:

• Responsible for implementation to A5 countries of company’s unclaimed procedure
• Communicate with all countries to collect on monthly basis the unclaimed cargos
• Ensure that notification is sent to POL as well as sending alert and demand letters to consignee
• Send the notification for unclaimed cargo to POL for Nigeria.
• Update IQSHIP and follow up with logistics and commercial team for any release of unclaimed cargo and notify POL
• Send the list of Nigeria unclaimed cargo to claims and commercial team for alert and demand letters
• Notify export teams in A5 countries to alert the shipper when necessary.
• To collect all necessary information for the by weekly unclaimed meeting.
• Take lead of the by weekly meeting and take minutes of the meeting
• Follow up actions after meeting and presents the result and progress in the next meeting
• Issue out demand letters on unclaimed cargo, unreturned empty containers, and unclaimed export cargo
• Invite third party for joint inspection when any damage is traced to them on board the vessel, cargo, and container
• Compile claim documents received from clients for onward transfer to ZIMINS/GSLINS for investigation
• Inform Insurer of any accident of damage to company vehicles/properties
• Attend to customers email and complaints on cargo/containers.
• Attend to all lawful claims and unclaimed cargo matter

Requirements:

• First degree in in maritime, shipping, or related disciplines
• Between 3-5 years prior experience in similar capacity.
• Strong relationship management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good command of written and spoken in English
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft office, including Excel, Word, Power Point, Web-based and email programs
