Position Summary
As a UAV Engineer (Programmer) at Proforce Airsystems, you will play a pivotal role in the software development, integration, and testing of autonomous flight control systems. You will bridge the gap between hardware and software, developing robust algorithms for flight navigation, payload control, and ground control station (GCS) communication. The ideal candidate has a strong background in robotics, aerospace software, and embedded systems, with a passion for unmanned systems technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Flight Software Development: Design, develop, and implement flight control algorithms, autopilot software, and navigation systems using frameworks such as PX4, ArduPilot, or custom solutions.
- System Integration: Integrate software with various hardware components, including flight controllers, sensors (IMUs, LiDAR, GPS, cameras), actuators, and communication payloads.
- Autonomy & Guidance: Develop and test autonomous navigation, obstacle avoidance, swarm behaviors, and return-to-home algorithms.
- Ground Control Station (GCS) Integration: Develop and maintain communication protocols (MAVLink, etc.) between the UAV and Ground Control Stations for real-time telemetry and mission planning.
- Simulation & Testing: Utilize Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) simulation environments to test flight software safely before live flight testing.
- Flight Testing Support: Participate in field trials and flight tests to validate software performance, troubleshoot issues, and collect telemetry data for further analysis.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation of code, system architectures, testing procedures, and compliance standards.
Software Development:
Develop and maintain UAV control software, including flight control algorithms, mission planning, and communication protocols.
Collaborate with software engineers to ensure seamless communication between hardware and software systems.
Research and Development:
- Stay up-to-date with UAV technology advancements and industry trends.
- Research and implement new technologies, materials, and design concepts to enhance UAV performance and capabilities.
Documentation:
- Maintain detailed records of design specifications, testing results, and engineering changes.
- Prepare reports and documentation for regulatory compliance and project management.
Project Management:
- Manage project timelines and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of UAV development projects.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers.
Salary Expectation: N350,000 - N400,000 MONTHLY
