Job Description

• A truck mechanic with experience in DAF truck repairs plays a crucial role in maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles to ensure their optimal performance.

Responsibilities
Diagnostics and Troubleshooting:

• Use specialized diagnostic tools and software to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues in DAF trucks.
• Interpret fault codes and perform system analyses to pinpoint problems.

Maintenance and Repairs:

• Conduct regular preventive maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and brake inspections.
• Repair or replace faulty components like engines, transmissions, suspension systems, and brake systems.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications for DAF trucks.

Electrical and Electronic Systems:

• Work with advanced electrical systems, including CAN-bus networks and ECU systems.
• Diagnose and repair wiring, sensors, and control modules specific to DAF trucks.

Engine and Drivetrain:

• Perform overhauls and repairs on engines, gearboxes, and differentials.
• Familiarity with DAF's PACCAR engines and emission control systems like SCR and EGR.

Safety and Compliance:

• Ensure that all repairs meet safety standards and regulations.
• Keep up-to-date with DAF-specific technical bulletins and service guidelines.

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain accurate service records, including parts used and work completed.
• Communicate effectively with customers or fleet managers about repairs and future maintenance needs.
