This is a full-time hybrid role for a Trainee Associate in Arbitration and Maritime located in Lagos, Nigeria.
As a Trainee Associate, you will work closely with senior associates to carry out legal research, draft legal memoranda and briefs, and manage complex case files.
You will also attend hearings and arbitration proceedings, as well as participate in settlement negotiations.
While the majority of the work will be carried out in-house, some remote work is acceptable.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Law from a recognized institution.
Strong analytical and research skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and effectively manage time and workload.
Understanding of arbitration and maritime law is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other legal research databases/software.
Strong work ethic and commitment to high-quality work.
Eligibility for call to the Nigerian Bar is required.
