Job Summary

The Trade Analyst – Agric Commodities will play a key role in analyzing market trends, evaluating trade data, and providing actionable insights to support strategic trading decisions in the agricultural commodity sector for Cardinal Torch. This individual will monitor global and local market developments, price fluctuations, supply-demand dynamics, and trade policy changes affecting key commodities such as cashew, cocoa, sesame, soybeans, maize, and others.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support senior traders in executing physical and futures cocoa trades.
• Analyse market trends, supply-demand dynamics, and price movements.
• Maintain exceptional client service by building strong relationships with suppliers, buyers, internal team and logistics partners.
• Assist in managing trade execution, including contracts, pricing, and risk management.
• Manage all trade finance instruments and monitor internal credit lines.
• Contribute to P&L reporting and trading strategy discussions.
• Demonstrate a strong focus on controls and operational risk management, escalate issues timely
• Understand business climate to analyze forecasts, including trend, seasonality, scheduled order programs
• Prepares accurate and timely financial reports for assigned business as appropriate to support reporting cycle or forecast and budget development.
• On a daily basis prepare daily cash payments/receipts through subledger systems in a timely and accurate manner
• Incorporates accounting, tax and market factors where appropriate

Key Requirements:

• 1–4 years of experience in commodity trading, preferably in cocoa and other soft commodities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics, Economics, Statistics or related field.
• Strong analytical skills and commercial mindset.
• Knowledge of futures markets and risk management principles.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Excel and trading software is an additional plus.
