    Total Quality Manager

    JOB SUMMARY:

    Develops and implements total quality management strategy with policies, programs, processes and initiatives. Leads cross functional team to study and develop effective tools, methods, and systems to ensure that company products and services are of the highest quality. Creates standards used to measure quality results and to drive continuous improvements. Coordinates the activities required to meet the quality standards set for company products or services.

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    • Devise and establish a company's quality procedures, standards and specifications.
    • Overseeing quality control processes, and a team of Quality Assurance Officers.
    • Establishing strategies to improve efficiency and profitability in the organization, as well as put out higher quality goods.
    • Make sure that manufacturing or production processes meet international and national standards
    • Set standards for quality as well as health and safety.
    • Set up and maintain controls and documentation procedures for quality management.
    • Monitor performance by gathering relevant data and produce statistical reports on quality management.
    • Review existing policies on total quality management and make suggestions for changes and improvements and how to implement them.
    • Define quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff.
    • Measure performance and identify any areas of weakness, making recommendations to the executive management team and implementing improvements.
    • Liaise with other managers and staff and provide training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality standards.
    • Assess the effectiveness of changes made.
    • Make sure the company is working as effectively as possible to keep up with competitors.
    • Creating production plans for new products with a focus on quality.
    • Investigating root causes of defects and recommending solutions for quality issues.
    • Onboarding and training new quality control team members.
    • Look at ways to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
    • Review customer requirements and make sure they are met.
    • Work with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers.

    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • B.Sc. in Food Technology, or any related field.
    • Minimum of 7 - 10 years work experience as a Total Quality Manager in an FMCG or related industry.

    SKILLS:

    • Good communication and organisational skills.
    • Excellent numerical skills.
    • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel.
    • Sound understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
    • Efficient problem-solving skills.
    • Strong Microsoft Suite skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
    • Ability to learn and navigate new software and systems quickly.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • An analytical mind and attention to detail.
    • High level of integrity.
    • Ability to work well with minimum or no supervision.
    • Have the ability to discuss quality standards and how to accomplish them with other employees.
    • Strong organizational, administrative, and time management skills.
    • Excellent listening skills and the ability to ask probing questions, understand concerns, and overcome objections.
    • Superior analytical skills with the ability to perform data analysis, identify outliers, and communicate results.
    • Proven track record for driving/identifying process improvements and operational efficiencies.
    • Strong initiative with excellent organizational and project management skills.
    • Experience with Six Sigma and other quality control methodologies.

    REMUNERATION AND BENEFITS:

    • Monthly Salary: N220,000 – N320,000
    • Quarterly bonus package
    • Allowances
    • Other benefits

    WORK HOURS:

    8am to 5pm, (5 work days/ Weekly).
