Technical Sales Specialist — Genomics & Molecular Platforms at Zodel Biotec Ltd

About the Role

• Zodel Biotec is seeking a technically strong and commercially minded Technical Sales Specialist to lead business development across genomics, molecular biology, and related laboratory technologies.
• This is not a conventional sales role.
• The successful candidate will be expected to understand laboratory workflows, engage scientists and laboratory professionals, identify technical needs, and translate those needs into appropriate products and solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage customers within research, academic, diagnostic, and biotechnology markets
• Identify new opportunities in genomics and molecular biology
• Build relationships with researchers, laboratory scientists, laboratory managers, and procurement teams
• Conduct technical product presentations and demonstrations
• Understand customer workflows and recommend suitable solutions
• Prepare quotations, proposals, and technical responses (in coordination with the back-office team)
• Follow up opportunities from lead generation through conversion
• Maintain an active sales pipeline
• Support product evaluations and implementation
• Provide first-level technical support
• Monitor competitor activity and market developments
• Work with suppliers and Zodel's technical team on complex opportunities
• Maintain accurate CRM and sales records
• Meet agreed revenue, gross-margin, and business-development targets

Ideal Candidate

• B.Sc./B.Tech/M.Sc. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Genetics, Biomedical Science, or a related discipline
• 2–5 years' experience in technical sales, laboratory applications, molecular diagnostics, life-science distribution, or a related field
• Strong understanding of molecular biology workflows
• Working knowledge of PCR/qPCR, nucleic-acid extraction, and molecular testing
• Familiarity with genomics/NGS is an advantage
• Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills
• Comfortable speaking with both technical and non-technical customers
