A leading furniture manufacturer in Nigeria is looking to hire a Technical Officer . Our ideal candidate will be responsible for solving all the technical issues in the factory and ensure smooth running of the factory.

Job Description

Reporting directly to the Factory Manager

• Responsible for monitoring the factory performance, manage & allocate manpower and strengthen and develop the organization's production & planning structure.
•  Ability to coordinate production process from start to finish
• Effective basic technical know-how to maintain manufacturing machines and tools to maximum functionality. 
• Supervise the attendance of staff and ensure all staff are of good behavior during working hours
• Send monthly report to the Factory Manager on operational activities
• Ensure appropriate health and safety procedures are in place and applied rigorously. 
• Build strong rapport with the production team through open communication, promote a positive, safe, productive, and efficient work environment
•  Provide overall guidance and direction at the factory 
• Monitor production equipment and ensure that they stay in good working order, and repair or replace the equipment when needed.
• Provide first Aid treatment for injured workers and ensure proper medical care is sought afterwards
• Maintain close relationship with every departments of the factory to make sure everything runs smoothly.
• Create and maintain good relationships with suppliers
• Maintain records of purchases, pricing, and other important data regarding procurement of materials.
• Review and analyze all vendors/suppliers, supply, and price options
• Ensure that the products /materials bought are of high quality
• Other duties has assigned 

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Engineering or relevant discipline
• Experience in a similar role is an added advantage 
• Technical skills 
• Leadership and interpersonal skills
• Strong leadership; good time management and organization skills
• Communication skills 
• Ability to multitask
