Role Overview

The Technical Manager (Processing) will oversee the organization’s poultry processing operations, ensuring that processing activities are carried out efficiently, safely and in compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.

The role will be responsible for optimizing processing systems, improving product yield, reducing waste and downtime, maintaining high hygiene standards and ensuring that processing equipment and facilities operate effectively. The successful candidate will also lead and develop processing teams while driving continuous improvement across the plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily poultry processing operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and minimal waste.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, HACCP, GMP, and regulatory standards.
• Monitor processing equipment, cold storage, maintenance, and technical performance.
• Supervise and train processing staff on operational, safety, and hygiene procedures.
• Monitor production yield, downtime, defects, and wastage and recommend improvements.
• Prepare processing reports and coordinate with QA, Engineering, Sales, suppliersnand regulatory bodies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Food Technology, Animal Science, Agricultural Engineering, Food Science, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 8–10 years' relevant experience in poultry processing, food manufacturing, or a related production environment.
• Proven experience managing poultry slaughterhouse or processing operations.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, HACCP, GMP and quality management practices.
• Experience with cold storage and cold-chain operations.
• Demonstrated experience in process optimisation, yield improvement, waste reduction and production efficiency.
• Knowledge of processing equipment maintenance and/or production automation.
• Professional certifications in HACCP, GMP, Food Safety Management, or related areas are an advantage.
• A Master's degree in Food Safety, Processing, Operations Management, or a related field is an advantage.
