    Technical Assistant

    Job Summary

    • The Technical Assistant will support the technical team in the installation, maintenance, and monitoring of energy systems and solutions.
    • This role involves hands-on fieldwork, customer support, and administrative tasks that ensure smooth operations and optimal performance of all deployed energy systems.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of solar and other energy systems at customer sites.
    • Support routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs to ensure system reliability.
    • Monitor system performance using company software/tools and escalate issues where necessary.
    • Maintain accurate records of installations, service visits, and equipment inventory.
    • Provide technical support to customers and resolve basic technical inquiries.
    • Collaborate with the operations and technical teams to ensure all projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
    • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies during field and office work.
    • Prepare reports, update documentation, and assist in process improvements.
    • Test, analyze and repair solar home systems and pre-commission higher capacity inverters
    • Review technical tickets and comment on each with detailed information
    • Perform tests on new products and accessories and conduct training sessions with the entire Ignite team
    • Support the training of field staff on the correct installation of solar systems, effective troubleshooting and best practices
    • Review energy audit and give suitable system recommendation to prospective clients
    • Solar inverter pre-commissioning and configuration.
    • Deploy and manage IoT monitoring technology for high capacity solar inverters
    • Perform any other technical support duties as assigned by the line manager.

    Profile

    • Diploma, B.ENG, OND/HND in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, Electrical Electronics or related fields.
    • 1–2 years of experience in a technical support or field operations role (energy/solar industry is an advantage).
    • Basic understanding of IT/Electrical and Solar energy systems.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team, often in field locations.
    • Good communication skills and customer service orientation.
    • Proficient in MS Office and comfortable with technical software/tools.
    • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours when required.
