Job Summary

We are seeking a talented, innovative, and detail-oriented Technical Design Officer to join our automobile manufacturing team in Abuja. The successful candidate will support the design, development, and improvement of automotive products and components, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, quality requirements, and manufacturing specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and update engineering drawings, technical specifications, and design documentation.
• Develop 2D and 3D models of vehicle components and assemblies using CAD software.
• Assist in the design, development, and modification of automotive products and systems.
• Conduct engineering calculations, feasibility studies, and design analyses.
• Support prototype development, testing, validation, and product improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality Assurance, Procurement, and Engineering teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
• Review designs and recommend improvements to enhance performance, reliability, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate records of design revisions and technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with automotive industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
• Participate in product development meetings and provide technical support where required.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies, engineering trends, and industry best practices.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor\'s Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2–4 years\' experience in technical design, product development, or engineering design within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or similar design applications.
• Good understanding of engineering drawing standards and manufacturing processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Membership of a relevant professional engineering body is an added advantage.
