Job Summary

We are seeking an innovative and experienced Technical Design Manager to lead the design and development of automotive products and systems. The successful candidate will oversee the technical design team, manage vehicle and component design projects, and ensure that all designs meet performance, safety, quality, cost, and regulatory requirements. This role requires strong engineering expertise, project management skills, and a passion for automotive innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and optimization of vehicle systems, components, and assemblies.
• Manage the technical design team and coordinate design activities across multiple projects.
• Develop design concepts, specifications, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with automotive industry standards, safety regulations, and company requirements.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, production, quality, procurement, and research teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
• Review and approve engineering drawings, prototypes, and product modifications.
• Oversee computer-aided design (CAD) activities and engineering simulations.
• Manage product development timelines, budgets, and resources.
• Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and failure analysis to improve product performance and reliability.
• Support prototype development, testing, validation, and production launch activities.
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation in vehicle design and engineering processes.
• Stay updated on emerging automotive technologies, materials, and industry trends.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Design, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Master's degree is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in automotive design, product development, or engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, CATIA, SolidWorks, Creo, or similar design tools.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle design principles, manufacturing processes, and automotive regulations.
• Experience in project management and cross-functional team leadership.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities.
• Professional engineering certification is an added advantage.
