    Team Lead, Clean Energy

    Job Summary

    The Team Lead, Clean Energy is responsible for leading the development, structuring, and execution of clean energy financing and investment solutions. The role drives business growth in renewable energy (solar, wind, hydro, battery storage, and energy efficiency projects) by originating deals, managing client relationships, and ensuring successful delivery of sustainable energy transactions in alignment with the institution’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) objectives.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead origination and execution of clean energy and renewable energy financing transactions 
    • Develop and manage relationships with key distributors in the energy, infrastructure, and sustainability value sectors 
    • Lead business development initiatives and establish strategic partnerships with renewable energy providers, distributors and manufacturers. 
    • Structure financing solutions for solar, wind, hydro, and hybrid energy projects 
    • Conduct due diligence, risk assessment, and credit analysis for energy-related transactions 
    • Coordinate with technical, legal, and risk teams to ensure successful deal execution 
    • Monitor portfolio performance of clean energy investments and ensure asset quality 
    • Identify new business opportunities in renewable energy and climate finance markets 
    • Provide advisory support on energy transition and sustainability financing solutions 
    • Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, regulatory standards, and ESG frameworks 
    • Lead and mentor a team of analysts and Relationship Managers within the unit 
    • Prepare reports, proposals, and presentations for senior management and credit committees  Head of Department.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Economics, Environmental Science, or related field Master’s degree (MBA, Finance, Energy Management, or related discipline) is an advantage.
    •  Professional certifications in finance, energy, or project management (e.g., CFA, PMP) are an added advantage.
    • Experience:    Minimum of 5–10 years’ relevant experience in banking, project finance, energy finance, or infrastructure financing.
