We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Summer Camp Facilitator to join our team at Workcentral on a contract basis for the summer.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading and organizing camp activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of campers, and providing an engaging and educational camp experience.
This role requires strong leadership skills, a passion for working with children, and the ability to thrive in an outdoor and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, lead, and facilitate a variety of camp activities, including games, arts and crafts, sports, and educational workshops.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers by following established safety protocols and procedures.
Create a positive and inclusive camp environment that encourages participation and fosters a sense of community.
Supervise and mentor campers, providing guidance, support, and conflict resolution as needed.
Communicate effectively with parents, providing updates on camp activities and addressing any concerns.
Assist in the setup and cleanup of camp facilities and equipment.
Collaborate with other camp staff to develop and implement camp schedules and programs.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and camper progress.
Stay up-to-date with best practices in camp facilitation and youth development.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Education, Recreation, Child Development, or a related field.
Proven experience as a camp counselor, youth leader, or in a similar role.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
Ability to work outdoors and engage in physical activities.
Self-motivated with a positive and energetic attitude.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
