In line with our mandate, we are recruiting a suitable and qualified M&E specialist to oversee our ongoing nutrition projects in Nasarawa state.
Job Purpose
The overall objective of this position is to support NHED to develop and operationalize a functional and comprehensive M&E for its nutrition projects to ensure timely, informed, and effective decision making.
Specific Objectives
1. Identify gaps in the nutrition M& E system including gaps in a staff capacity for M&E and develop a capacity building plan.
2. Facilitate the development of an M&E plan including the identification of key indicators and development of an M&E framework, development of harmonized data collection tools, reporting mechanisms, and indicator dashboard.
3. Disseminate the M&E framework and tools to strengthen coordination among implementation states.
4. Support capacity building activities for project staff on M&E

1: Conduct a Gap Analysis
2: Development of a nutrition M& E plan
3: Strengthen coordination
Key Deliverables
1. Validation and Operationalisation of nutrition M&E plan including frameworks and tools.
2. Established a platform for the routine collection, analysis, and use of nutrition data by project staff.
3. Indicator dashboard developed, and staff trained on its use
3. Platform established to report on key indicators and data collected via the M & E system.
4. Improved staff capacity in M&E.
5. Key stakeholder’s meetings scheduled to discuss routine data collected via the M & E system - Enhanced use of data and knowledge to improve project outcomes
Education/Qualification and Experience in Monitoring and Evaluation
Travel
The Consultant is expected to travel to project states to meet with state teams, and participate in meetings and workshops. Travel costs under this consultancy will be covered by NHED according to its Standard Operating Procedures
