The State Coordinator will lead Extension Africa's operations in Nasarawa State, driving the building and activation of a functional rural stakeholder network. This is a field-intensive, performance-driven role that combines operational leadership with stakeholder coordination, digital extension deployment, and revenue generation. The role sits at the intersection of agricultural development and market systems, making it ideal for a candidate who thrives in dynamic field environments and can deliver measurable results at scale.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruit, onboard, and activate Farmer Business Associates (FBAs) and other rural actors across operational clusters
Establish community-level structures to support last-mile input distribution, aggregation, and advisory delivery
Lead the rollout of Extension Africa's AI-enabled Extension Advisory System (IrokoAI) across the state
Coordinate Training of Trainers (ToTs), farmer trainings, and continuous field coaching sessions
Identify and onboard vendors including input suppliers, mechanization providers, and financial service providers
Build and maintain relationships with ADPs, government agencies, and development partners
Drive revenue generation through partnerships, service delivery, and rural marketplace activities
Ensure accurate and timely data collection across all field activities and provide regular reports to the RED Coordinator
Oversee day-to-day field operations including scheduling, logistics, and team deployment
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Extension, Agronomy, or a related field
Proven experience in field operations and rural stakeholder engagement, preferably within a private sector or market-driven agricultural model
Strong understanding of smallholder farmer systems and rural market dynamics
Experience with digital extension tools or technology-enabled agricultural programs is an advantage
Demonstrated ability to manage field teams and drive performance against targets
Strong communication, reporting, and relationship management skills
Commercial mindset with the ability to identify and close partnership opportunities
Willingness to travel frequently across LGAs and rural communities within Nasarawa State
