Specialist, Internal Control at T2 (Formerly 9Mobile)

Job Summary

• Assist in conducting process controls activities in line with stated policies and processes.

Principal Functions

• Perform routine and special process controls activities, ensuring compliance with approved policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Assist in conducting continuous monitoring and review of activities and transactions in order to detect incidences of non-compliance and/or irregularities.
• Compile reports with accurate facts and figures backing conclusions and recommendations.
• Proactively identify and report issues, exceptions and irregularities to the Internal Controls & Compliance Manager for appropriate action.
• Assist in identifying control implications of process improvement/redesign/implementation efforts and assessing the adequacy and sufficiency of controls to be built/ integrated into the system/processes.
• Suggest improvements on executed investigations and forensics.
• Assist in conducting research on local and global best practices to ensure the unit stays abreast of telecommunication trends, events and developments.
• Prepare agreed activity and performance reports on a timely basis, for the attention of the Manager, Internal Controls & Compliance and other relevant parties.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager, Internal Controls & Compliance.

• Turnaround time of controls activities.
• Quality of risk and controls reports.
• Compliance with standards and guidelines.

Minimum Requirements

• First Degree or its equivalent in any Business or Computing related discipline preferably Accounting, Economics or Information Systems
• Professional Accounting/Auditing qualifications will be an advantage (ACA, ACCA, CISA, CIA, CFE, etc.).
• Minimum of Four (4) years relevant professional experience.

Requirements:

• Good understanding of leading practices especially with regards to standards and procedures for the telecommunication industry.
• Good understanding of telecommunication industry operations and business processes.
• Good knowledge of general controls standards and principles (COSO, COBIT, ETom etc.).
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Good networking and teaming skills.
• Good data gathering and analysis skills with detailed understanding of big data platforms and ERP architecture
• Good problem analysis and solving skills.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft office tools.
