Special Educational Needs (SEN) Specialist / Learning Support Teacher at Bethany High School

About the Role

• The successful candidate will work collaboratively with classroom teachers, parents, school leaders, and external professionals to identify, assess, and support students with mild to moderate additional learning needs.
• You will play a key role in developing inclusive practices, designing personalised interventions, and ensuring that all learners can fully participate in school life. Learning support teachers in international schools commonly provide targeted interventions, collaborate with subject teachers, and help implement individual learning plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and assess students requiring additional learning support.
• Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and personalised learning strategies where appropriate.
• Provide targeted one-to-one and small-group interventions.
• Collaborate with subject teachers to adapt instruction and assessments.
• Support students with learning differences, autism spectrum conditions, ADHD, dyslexia, and other mild to moderate learning needs.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records.
• Partner with parents to support student development.
• Promote an inclusive, supportive, and Christ-centred learning environment.
• Provide professional guidance and training to colleagues on inclusive teaching practices.
• Contribute to safeguarding and student wellbeing initiatives.

Qualification

We are looking for someone who:

• Holds a Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Inclusive Education, Educational Psychology, or a related field.
• Has recognised training or certification in Special Educational Needs.
• Has experience supporting learners with diverse educational needs.
• Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Is knowledgeable about inclusive education and differentiated instruction.
• Can work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Is committed to continuous professional growth.
• Shares the Christian ethos and values of Bethany High School.
