We are seeking an analytical and results-oriented Sourcing Manager-Farm to join our team.
You will be responsible for optimizing our agricultural product procurement, building strong relationships with farmers, and ensuring cost-effective and timely acquisition of crops.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement a sourcing strategy to secure high-quality crops at competitive prices. This includes identifying new farmer partnerships, analyzing market trends, and negotiating contracts.
Farmer Relationship Management: Build and maintain positive relationships with farmers, understand their needs and challenges, and work collaboratively to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes.
Operational Excellence: Streamline our farm-to-table procurement process, focusing on efficiency, cost reduction, and on-time delivery. Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager to manage inventory levels based on production needs and seasonal variations.
Quality Control: Implement procedures to ensure consistent product quality throughout the supply chain. Conduct regular farm inspections and partner with farmers to improve agricultural practices.
Cost Management: Negotiate favorable pricing with farmers and explore cost-saving opportunities across the procurement process.
Data Analysis: Utilize data to identify trends, optimize sourcing strategies, and measure the performance of our procurement activities. Prepare reports for stakeholders to keep them informed.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant agricultural regulations and company policies.
Skills & Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (an MBA is a plus).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in agricultural procurement or a related field.
Proven experience in building and managing relationships with farmers.
Strong understanding of agricultural production practices and market trends.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and translate it into actionable insights.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel is a must).
Experience with agricultural technology a plus.
