We are seeking a Solar Electrical Engineer (Design and Operations) to join our dynamic team at NXT Grid. As a leader in the solar mini-grid industry, we are dedicated to providing reliable and sustainable energy solutions to communities in Nigeria and beyond.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of solar mini-grids for various sites. Your expertise in solar energy systems and electrical engineering will be crucial in ensuring the successful deployment and operation of these mini-grids. You will work closely with a team of engineers and technicians to optimize the electrical systems and equipment, ensuring maximum energy service delivery to our customers while maintaining healthy financials for the sites.
Key responsibilities:
Developing, reviewing, and modifying electrical design plans for solar mini-grid projects
Overseeing the implementation and installation of electrical systems
Conducting regular maintenance and troubleshooting activities on existing mini-grids
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery
Monitoring the performance of electrical systems and equipment and providing recommendations for improvements
Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
Managing project budgets and timelines

Full-time position with flexible working hours
Location: Lagos, with frequent visits to project sites
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Minimum of 5 years experience in solar energy system design and operations
Proficiency in electrical design software and tools
Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Passion for renewable energy and sustainable development
