    Software Development Manager

    Job Description

    • The Software Development Manager is mainly responsible for coordinating the team members and the client, allocating the resources, and streamlining the processes.
    • The Software Development Manager must ensure that all deliverables are met in a given timeline.
    • Depending on the scope of the project, the manager can also take on a more hands-on role in development.
    • Yet, their primary role is to control the software development process.

    Responsibilities

    • Manages all the activities of the software development team
    • Leading the development team in the design, development, coding, testing and debugging of applications,
    • Sets attainable goals to team members to complete the project on time
    • Provides guidance to team members to encourage work productivity
    • Manages multiple projects simultaneously to ensure success
    • Ensures appropriate procedures and processes are followed when it comes to software development,
    • Resolving performance issues and making revisions when necessary
    • Represents the software development unit in meetings
    • Participate in design control activities
    • Monitors, evaluates, and ensures the completion of tasks and projects
    • Analyses software requirements
    • Implements design plans, reviews unit tests
    • Keep up to date with the latest development software
    • Hires and trains new developers
    • Documentation of software development process
    • Monitors status of developing software
    • Writes, reviews and revises product requirements and specifications,
    • Train technical and non-technical end-users once the software has been developed
    • Provides technical support to other company personnel.

    Skills and Man Specifications

    • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
    • Between 6-10 years hands-on experience.
    • Must have at least 4 years’ experience managing a software development team.
    • Proven experience in leading and succeeding with development teams.
    • Extensive experience in developing, deploying, and integrating software solutions
    • Up to date in programming languages.
    • Above average troubleshooting skills.
    • Comfortable with complex programming applications.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Strong ability to manage upwards,
    • Written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent leadership traits.
    • Analytical skills.
    • Detail oriented.
    • Organizational skills.
    • Professionalism.
    • Project management skills.
    • A good mentor and coach.
