KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, test, and maintain PHP-based applications supporting loan origination, disbursement, repayment, and reporting processes
• Develop and optimize MySQL databases, queries, and stored procedures to ensure data accuracy, performance, and integrity
• Collaborate with operations and business teams to translate lending requirements into technical solutions
• Troubleshoot application issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks, ensuring minimal downtime
• Enhance existing systems with innovative features that improve efficiency, automation, and user experience
• Implement and maintain security best practices, including data protection, access control, and audit trails
• Integrate third-party APIs.
• Document system designs, processes, and changes clearly for internal use
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior developers or support staff when required

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience developing applications using PHP
• Strong proficiency in MySQL database design, optimization, and performance tuning
• Solid understanding of web application architecture and backend development
• Experience building or supporting financial, lending, or transactional systems is an advantage
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills with a problem-solving mindset
• Ability to propose innovative technical solutions to business challenges
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON, and third-party integrations
• Knowledge of version control systems.
• Understanding of application security principles
