Shipping and Downstream Operations Manager at VURIN Group

The Role:

• We are seeking an experienced Shipping and Downstream Operations Manager to lead our vessel operations, downstream marketing, and logistics strategy. What You’ll Do:

Shipping Operations & Strategy

• Plan, implement, and manage the company’s overall shipping strategy.
• Oversee vessel management, cargo requirements, and compliance with statutory regulations.
• Monitor and analyze operational data to anticipate and resolve issues proactively.
• Develop and present KPI reports while improving shipping processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Lead and supervise all shipping personnel while managing shipping budgets and delivery timelines.

Downstream Marketing & Business Operations

• Collaborate with the CEO and cross-functional teams to deliver on new business initiatives.
• Drive downstream marketing activities, supply planning strategies, and customer retention efforts.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers, local/international suppliers, and distributors.
• 9nsure timely and quality product delivery while improving market positioning and product visibility.
•  Monitor SLAs, measure performance, and conduct internal audits to ensure excellence.

Supply & Trading

• Analyze historical fuel purchasing trends and current market conditions to optimize procurement.
• Oversee customer supply portfolios and manage the entire RFP process.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain and Finance teams to reconcile inventories and trading positions.
• Ensure cost efficiency in trading while meeting delivery commitments and regulatory standards.

Logistics Leadership

• Supervise loading and logistics operations in full compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Track inventory, delivery timelines, transport efficiency, and cost metrics to ensure continuous improvement.
• Lead, train, and motivate logistics personnel to meet productivity, timeliness, and quality benchmarks.

What We Are Looking For:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Maritime Operations, or related field.
• MBA/MSc in a relevant field is an added advantage.
• Relevant certifications in SCM, Logistics, or Marine Operations.

Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in shipping and downstream oil & gas operations.
• Proven success in managing vessel operations, trading, and downstream marketing.
• Strong record in improving operational performance, team leadership, and cost optimization.

Knowledge & Proficiency in:

• Oil & gas supply chain operations and compliance
• Shipping procedures, documentation, and vessel operations
• Downstream trading, fuel pricing, and customer portfolio analysis
• Budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
• Microsoft Office (Excel – advanced), shipping/distribution software, and ERP tools
• Regulatory interface with DPR, NAPIMS, NIPEX, and NCDMB
