Shadow Teacher at Royal Resource Management (RRM)

Description

• We are seeking a patient, compassionate, attentive, and responsible Shadow Teacher to provide one-on-one support to a child with special educational needs within the school environment.
• The Shadow Teacher will work closely with the classroom teacher, therapists, parents, and other members of the school's support team to help the child participate effectively in academic, social, behavioural, and daily classroom activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support to the assigned child during classroom activities.
• Assist the child in understanding and completing classroom tasks and assignments.
• Support the child's communication, social interaction, and participation in group activities.
• Help manage and redirect challenging or disruptive behaviours using appropriate strategies.
• Follow individualized education, behavioural, and therapy plans provided by the school.
• Encourage independence rather than creating unnecessary dependence on the Shadow Teacher.
