    Sensory Specialist

    • The Sensory Specialist will be responsible for designing, conducting, and analyzing sensory evaluations to support product development, quality assurance, and consumer research. The incumbent will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that products meet sensory expectations and align with consumer preferences.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Design and execute sensory tests (e.g., discrimination, descriptive, and affective tests) for new and existing products.
    • Develop and maintain sensory panels, including recruitment, training, and performance monitoring.
    • Analyze and interpret sensory data using appropriate statistical methods and software.
    • Collaborate with R&D, QA, and Marketing teams to translate sensory insights into actionable recommendations.
    • Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with sensory testing protocols and standards.
    • Contribute to the development of sensory best practices and innovative testing methodologies.
    • Support product benchmarking, shelf-life studies, and quality investigations from a sensory perspective.

    Requirements:

    Behavorial & Technical Competencies

    • Must have at least a bachelor's degree in food science, sensory or related field; Master's degree preferred.
    • 3-5 years of experience in a sensory or consumer science role, preferably in a technical or R&D environment.
    • Strong knowledge of sensory methodologies and statistical tools (e.g., XLSTAT, Compusense, SPSS).
    • Familiarity with ISO standards for sensory evaluation.
    • Training in sensory panel leadership or descriptive analysis.
    • Strong analytical, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
    • Detail-oriented with a passion for understanding human perception and product experience.
    • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a product development setting.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Result-driven and Ownership.
